As an expectant mother, husband or husband-to-be, it is worthwhile to note the following:

1. Mutation: This simply means changing mood. It is common in pregnant women. It can also be described as a ‘Mood swing’. Mood Swing is normal with expectant mothers.

2. Junk Food: According to the Merian Webster Online dictionary, food that is high in calories but low in nutritional content is defined as Junk Food. It is appealing or enjoyable but of little or no real value.

They are those commercial products, including candy, bakery goods, ice cream, salty snacks, and soft drinks, which have little or no nutritional value but do have plenty of calories, salt, and fats. Pregnancy makes some women eat ‘funny food’. It normalizes ‘funny tastes’ making most pregnant women prefer burnt or soared food. Most of them like it when the taste is unusual.

3. Irritation: Pregnant women are easily irritated and can do the unthinkable when getting on their nerves. Some men have had bitter experiences in this regard through physical assault or destruction of properties championed by their pregnant wives.
