Absolutely not true.

The average professor makes about 450k a month and in most public universities, this comes with highly subsidized accommodation, in an area that is generally safe, has access to pipeborne water and round the clock electricity.

If Nigerian lecturers feel they are inadequately rewarded for their jobs, alternatives abound locally and internationallu.
you are yarning dust, that's how you guys use mouth comot all our best hands in medical field, banking sectors are feeling the same heat now. But you never told the government who hold unto your money and took your future for ransom to resign, but as a bonafide citizen I should leave? You naa they try.

I have given you facts.

Nigerian doctors when they go to UK realise the truth but their pride wouldnt let them speak.:

Junior doctors in Foundation Year 1 (F1) earn a basic starting salary of £28,808. In Foundation Year 2 (F2), this rises to £33,345. You'll receive extra pay if you work over 40 hours a week. There is also a 37% enhancement for working nights and allowances for weekend and on-call work.
A doctor in specialist training starts on a basic salary of £39,467 and progresses to £53,077.
Salaried general practitioners (GPs) earn £62,268 to £93,965 depending on the length of service and experience.

Note:
They will still pay between 30 - 38 % as tax.

They'll pay about a 3rd of their salaries as rent.

The grass is always greener...

The issue with people like you is that emotions always prevail. ASUU has been going on strike how many times now? Since 1990s. DO you think ASUU will not still go on strike next year or two years time? Only a foolish man does the same thing over and over again and expect different result. ASUU should find other means to get their demands met. A lot of people have suggested that they sponser a bill. 6 months of my life was put on hoild while in school, and the same thing is happening to my younger brother. ASUU keeps wasting people's time because of unionism. Shameful lot.

Most Nigerians cannot spend time to think.

University education is the responsibility of the state government and not the federal government. ASUU can as well lock the universities gate and take the keys to education minister at abuja. This government can not be bent on ASUU greedy demand. That is what they have fail to understand.

Alternatives abound locally and internationally?? Who will take over their jobs in our universities?

You guys just talk foolishly sometimes, if you were a lecturer would you talk this way?

ASUU has been striking since time immemorial and you didn’t know it’s the governments fault? They don’t take education seriously.

Government not serious ,advertise all positions vacant many young PhD holders roaming the streets will apply with new ideas and not stagnant syllables for years,
Government must after meeting their demands stop them from teaching in more than one University ,I never see a civil servant working in Ministry of finance Mon to Friday work in Ministry of sports Same time.

We hailing them, see when a professor or whatever lecturer earns 500k in A University and lectures in 5 Universities within a region, multiply it,it is true federal Government goofed but ASUU is more interested in their pockets using the students as guinea pig smoke screen.

This is the reason why I am now completely tired of ASUU.

They want their six months salaries to be paid but will they restore all the years they have wasted for me because of their incessant strikes?

You mean all governments have been bad towards ASUU?

Let's assume for a second, your saviour comes into office and ASUU goes on strike again, it would be his/her fault as well?

Let the lecturers that feel they are poorly rewarded go to institutions that would treat them better.

How difficult can that be?

This is all a deliberate plot by the evil apc.

ASUU strike will be called off before election campaign starts.

the plan is to lure the undergrads to vote for apc.

note this: when campaign starts, the economy of this country will seemingly begin to get better.

it is all a political plot by apc to cajole Nigerians into a false belief that apc can fix the country.

don't fall for that trick.

You are totally uncouth and obviously lack home training.

Your likes tend to compare your position in life with your peers not respecting the uniquness of your situation.

In US, People need student loans to attend college.
Such loans remain a burden after graduation.

In UK, student loans are also extended and nothing is free.

In Nigeria, a lecturer has so many benefits yet ensures he subdues the students who pay little or nothing for education.

Use your brain once in a while.

Let's endure while they fight for our education.

I’m very paranoid when talking to retar.ds, why would one person own all this stupidit.y?? angry

You mentioned the students loan as obtainable abroad, doesn’t it work for them? Do the kids go on incessant strikes?? How’s it a burden if you get value for your loan?

Why wouldn’t the government try that out? Certainly not, how would they impoverish nonentities like you so they can keep you at their feet.

What benefits exactly are you saying lecturers currently enjoy??

I’ve been discussing with an average, repressed black man. Bye

Elect who go school una no go gree….

These are the effects. People like Buhari see school as a useless thing after in his poor reasoning he would think since the education sector is not recking in revenue in hard currencies for them to loot forgetting that all of them weh deh send their children go UK schools na because of how UK handled their education sector and made it in a way it attracts international students same can happen in Nigerian universities I remember back then in Futo we had some PG students from Netherlands with us in the class.
