Every city in the world has its good and bad sides, non exempted. Though the problem of water scarcity in Enugu town is unique to it as far as Nigeria is concerned. No city in Nigeria experiences lack of water as terribly as Enugu does. And it is the main cause of capital and human flight from there. Most of the industries went to far off places around ninth mile to escape Enugu water troubles. Juhel pharmaceuticals which wanted to expand had to build a new factory in Awka, Anambra state because it required substantial water usage. Neimeth is building a new factory in Amawbia near Awka due to water security in the area. In future, Enugu will experience more and more population decline as the high cost of buying water from water tankers scare people away from the town.
