Giwa Market Is actually located in Giwa Town immediately after Zaria on the Road to Funtua 'Rough sketch 'from a former resident of Zamfara Thanks for the Updates Op Ina gaisuwa I can beat my chest that Giwa has a comparative advantage over Maize production,I am reminiscing Those Large expanse of arable land right now.
Note:Giwa is in Kaduna State, Funtua is in Katsina State These two routes Link to Zamfara it's fondly called bypass in the North.

New maize, maize from this year's harvest. It still have high moisture content. So, if you buy and dry it, the weight will reduce. You can't store it without drying, it will rot. So, you still have things to do before keeping. You can't also use it for most things without drying.

New maize is the newly harvested maize (this year's maize that was just harvested), while old maize is 2021's maize that have been stored.

The difference in price is due to the fact that old maize is drier and accepted by company's as it meets the required moisture content level, while new maize still have a lot of moisture in it and not yet suitable for storage.
