The husband is not the father of his wife . by vaxx: 12:34pm On Aug 26, 2022 |
The husband is not the father of his wife. So he is not entitle to replace her surname. The West goofed on this as they goofed on so many other matters. We are in 2022 in the 21st century for that matter, but the West is still behaving like the stone century. Seeing nothing wrong with a woman banishing her dad's name for her husband's. This is simply retrogressive. The West is simply backwards. I mean if a woman gets married, changes her name and gets divorce later, what happens? She go on to change her name again upon the second or third marriage? Imagine you had a terrible divorce with your hubby but his surname is still attached to you like an umbilical cord. Let's not even imagine the stress and hustle a woman would go through just to change her name and reflect them on her documents. She has to swear affidavits to get them back to her surname after divorce or upon demise of her husband? We Africans are fond of following the West, even on matters that the West are obviously not right. |

They didn't goof. Na their style. Na we wey dey copy and paste i blame. We copy dere marriage join sef and even many others things, good and bad, we digest am.. Thing is when we copy, we no dey edit to suit us. We even over copy and get confused at the end. Africans can copy French and English style and merge 2geda to form their own. 1 Like |
