ogododo:This matter went up to the supreme Court, let the court rule on it once n for all after all, that is why the court is there for in the first place, but personally I would suggest the I GO to do the recruitment but the PSC should have the final say on promotion and disciplinary matters to avoid discrimination, oppression n exploitation. |

Kingpele: Really unbelievable! The Assembly are all talking loud about taking measures to tackle the security problem but this one at the root of the problem....that they can solve in a day... they are not addressing. They simply need to amend the role of the PSC and restrict it to disciplinary matters only. I hope the next administration makes it a priority to reduce the number of agencies and make their roles be very clear. As is... each uniform personnel believes it is his duty to perform the work of any other uniform officer.....as in Military functioning as Police ... no separation.... happening soooo long the the last two generations believe they have that right. |

post=116131990:. The Act of 2001 should have repealed any subsisting laws of the time including the Act of 1967 and that of 1968 if the functions collided. |

That is why any one voting APC in 2023 should be examined in Yaba left to be sure he is normal Imagine the embarrassing case, and no word from the president and no comment from any quarter, rather one man in Lagos wants to continue the disaster called (legacy) that bubu gave us, so this is part of the legacies we should expect. |

The PSC and IGP may be sticking to their guns to flex muzzles over who is in charge, but that is not in the interest of the Nigerian public. - Of course this show of shame isn't to the interest of the Nigeria public and every right thinking Nigerian knows this. It is also disturbing that both the Presidency and the National Assembly have kept mute over an issue of such great national importance. - Everyday Buhari keeps sending this signal that the country is on autopilot. Also, the National Assembly who know the law are allowing such thing happen,oh! I forgot most of the National Assembly members don't even know the constitution that's why they behave anyhow, they just bare the title honourable. Is so pathetic. |

The police is at fault ab initio. Why did they watch and did nothing when police service commission (PSC) was being created. Why has the police top hierarchy been tolerating successive retired IGPs who have turned PSC as retirement enclave and continue to act as if they are still the IGPs? No serious country would subject the police to political interference the way it's done in Nigeria! Imagine if a commission consisting of civilian workers should be in charge of recruitment into Armed forces; Imagine another commission should be responsible for employment into DSS and NIA : Imagine if it's another agency that would recruit manpower for NDLEA, Immigration, etc.! Even NAFDAC cannot accept NBA to recruit personnel for them! Why the police? Nigeria police should buckle up! This has been the result of maladministration that has bedevilled the police for years 1 Like 1 Share |
