Here at Ford, they believe that justice starts where inequality ends. They assist groups that cooperate with their global programming efforts and address the root causes of inequality.

To have the biggest impact:

1. They give out about 1,500 grants a year to organisations that have innovative concepts and scalable solutions.
2. To continue their tradition of supporting leaders, they also give out a small number of awards to individuals, mostly through nominations for our fellowships.
3. They accept proposals that fall within their areas of expertise even though the foundation chooses the majority of the grants they make.
4. Each programme has its unique selection methodology and strategy.
5. While they try to be as transparent as they can about their objectives, they are aware that there are more deserving initiatives, groups, and organisations than they can support.
6. They understand the importance of your time and don’t want to encourage applicants to apply when there isn’t a chance for funding because they are aware of the time and effort it takes to apply.
