Good day guys,
please I'm here on a very urgent issues, I noticed my Kia optima 2013( note. The car has a turbocharger ) , start giving out smoke but stop after awhile, when I noticed this, I talk to my machanic which suggest it might be due to worn out ring, although I did my research and discovered faulty turbo charger can cause a car to emit smoke, so I talk to him, and the car was taken to those that fix turbo charger, note. It actually did fix the issues, but this week when I did oil change, I noticed the smoke again, which made me wonder what might be the cause,
So, my question now Is, could it be the turbo charger that's the issue or the worn out piston rings,?
If it's worn out piston ring, it's advisable to replace
Or should I take the car back to those guys that repair turbo charged for further complain
Thank you.

Hello everyone, I have an urgent issue to discuss. Recently, I noticed that my 2013 Kia Optima turbocharged car was emitting smoke, but the smoke would stop after a while. I spoke to my mechanic about it, and he suggested that it might be due to worn-out piston rings. However, I did some research and found out that a faulty turbocharger can also cause a car to emit smoke. As a result, I had my car taken to a repair shop that specializes in fixing turbochargers, and they were able to fix the problem.

However, this week, when I had my oil changed, I noticed the smoke again, which made me wonder what could be the cause. So, my question now is, could it be the turbocharger that's the issue, or is it the worn-out piston rings? If it's the worn-out piston rings, it's advisable to have them replaced. Alternatively, should I take my car back to the repair shop that fixed the turbocharger for further complaints? Thank you.

What specific things did they fix in the turbo system?
Was the parts repaired or replaced?
What specific type of oil did you use?

Greetings gurus in the house. Pls I need help with my 03 matrix. Just yesterday while going to work, I notice some strange noise from the engine side around the belt. So to be on the safe side I parked the car around the spot I noticed the noise. Cus it was loud. Checked my oil and trans fluid, scanned and no code. So I left the car there. Wen coming back in the evening, I picked the car when on speed u will not hear the sound but in traffic ithe sound will come back. Along the way, in the traffic the sound stopped and everything was normal. Only for me to later discover my drive belt was melting and smoking which was not like that before I picked it after work. And after changing the belt the sound returned again. Pls what can be the issue.

Your mechanic should isolate the source of the noise by taking off the belt, starting the car, if it doesn’t make any strange sound, he should turn it off, and start rolling ALL the pulleys and rollers by hand. He should also check the power steering pump, water pump and AC compressor pulley. He will find out the cause of the noise and smoke

Greeting my Ogas.
My AC has linkage and it was discovered that it was from the condenser.
3 options is opened to my by the technician:

1. Repair by welding it and flushing = 3k
2. Buy Belguim = 17k
3. Buy new one = 30k

Please from experience which you I go for

Camry 2.2

Should never have allowed the manual fixed displacement compressor swap. That means the compressor wiring harness has been manipulated. You might have a slight increase in fuel consumption and of course the suddenly engine loading. The automatic is still the best for climate control

yes, the security light goes off with the key inserted and the car get adequate fuel pressure.

I changed to another knock sensors and the engibe light still came on after clearing it.

The thing is, na tokunbo sensors they get here. Is there any way to get new or original tested knock sensors?

Has the wiring harness been tested to the ECM? A continuity test from the knock sensor socket to the ECM socket may be required.

Avoid using additives in recent engines. Oil treatment, engine flush, stop smoke..., even radiator stop leaks aren't good for recent engines

Hello House,

Just changed my Camry 2011 AC Compressor to Tokunbo Manual Compressor , few hours ago.The belt was changed too. But I started noticing funny sounds coming from the AC vent. But the AC is very chilling..

Could this be, that the compressor is not a good one or it was replaced with something different from the initial one, that’s not compatible with the car ?

I hate hearing funny and uncomfortable sounds from my car.. Kindly help out..

Thanks

Clear the error codes, drive some days and rescan again then post the new codes.

As for the interpretation of the codes, I’m too busy and too lazy to start checking their interpretation but I know your scan too had interpreted the codes for you to know what’s wrong.

Check if oil seals and gaskets are intact or leaking around the engine, change PCV valve. If it doesn’t stop, prepare to replace valve cover stem seals and rings with genuine rings.

Greetings dear Nairalanders,

I drive a Toyota Camry 07. About 6months ago my AC compressor got bad and was replaced with one that had to carry some connections with a certain unit from the follow come compressor.
Now the compressor doesn't function well when parked and also my engine vibrates slightly when the AC is on.
I met another technician who said I need to replace the compressor with a certain one he says is more suitable for my car.
Now I'm scared of uncertainties.
Should I go ahead with the replacement as advised again?
Also isn't the follow come compressor available in the market? If available, how much for tokumbo and how much for brand new?
Thank you all in anticipation of your response.

In my own opinion, you need to get brand new OEM compressor as well as other components which may have been damaged in your AC system

Does the Check engine light come on?
Does the security light flash when key is inserted into ignition?

For the age of your car, just reduce your expectations to 500km, you should be fine.
