There's no other way than to join every other good Nigerians in electing good leaders.

Having good leaders is what will save education and other sectors in Nigeria, not strike.

If ASUU think they can keep doing same thing (strike) and expect different outcomes, then they also have problems.
unions, workers are not normal ordinary Nigerians. These unions are formed to protect their members and workers. The same way if you as citizen attacks a policeman, the union will go after you and protect their own, that’s the same way ASUU protects their own. ASUU is striking , they are employees of the FG and not the students. It’s the duty of the federal Government to solve that issue and return students back to their universities. ASUU are simply doing all they can, voting is the things you do during elections, before then, work must go on, fees must be paid, and activities must take place, if the federal Government want that activity restored, they should be transparent and carry all along.

And some fools in this country and on this website keeps on attacking ASUU, (the pillar of education in nigeria) for asking for an implementation of an already agreed and signed agreement with the federal Government they work for and a country they serve?

This generation breeds idiocy.
ASUU wants 1 trillion. If ASUU says review our salaraies and allowances by now fg would have agreed.

All these works only if you have sensitive and responsible government.
That's why a normal strike, even in a third world country like Nigeria shouldn't be more than 2-4 weeks, cos by then everyone including the government must be feeling the heat, anything more than that, just know you are wasting your time and fighting shadows.
By now, ASUU have already realised the strike is futile, but they feel they are at a point of no return.
It's even worse this time around, cos FG said no work no pay, that was when Osodeke got angry and gave an interview that people should vote out APC, as if Nigerians don't already have enough reasons to do that.

I met my HOD in a restaurant about two weeks ago and we were talking about the strike, i told him the strike is not working, he said that's true but that the people are not doing enough.

What that means is that ASUU are expecting everyone to join them and protest, put pressure on the government.
But NLC and NANS did nationwide protest and nothing change, and if you overdo, FG will order armed men to open fire on you.

Everyone is tired now and just waiting for this administration to be over, other unions have called off the strike and gone back to class.
But ASUU is still adamant and are failing to see the bigger picture, that's exactly why people are no longer sympathising with them.

So every civil servant should earn the same? Do they perform same duties? Like I said, just demand for good governance and everything will be fine
They are earning more than those in their category. Good governance starts from transparency and equity

it’s 8 months to handover to a new government, ASUU would be fools to call off now. It sends a message to the FG that when ignored, they’ll eventually get tired, and other agencies are the reason why the FG now take strikes and the lots as a joke because they have in foolishly at the detriment of those they are meant to protect. Students who are the worse hit by all these are doing nothing to make the FG sit up and do its duty, but rather come online and tweet and post rubbish. Your solution to a bad government is to give in to that bad government? Honestly seems you don’t want a progress in your country. And once the government realizes every organization, union and body is fully loyal to them, I bet you don’t want a country like that.

Discretion is the better part of valor, you want students to protest so they can be shot dead again like 2020.
The solution to a bad government is to vote out the bad government.
That 8 months you said is remaining to handover to a new government, FG don't mind ignoring ASUU throughout the 8 months.

nobody wants students to protest, if Federal Government doesn’t mind ignoring ASUU for that 8 months, and that doesn’t motivate or make students angry enough to vote out said government and its enablers, then the citizens of the country nigeria are bigger fools. Calling off the strike will give an impression that the FG won and fools will still vote in said government. ASUU has gotten to this point, the students either learn and know their real enemies, and vote with that anger or they keep on ranting online without doing anything to help their future. ASUU are employees of the FG too, they are doing what their union are supposed to do, fight their employers on their behalf if their employers mean them harm.

Stop decieving yourself, ASUU is not the pillar of education of the country.

The university education is not the defination of literacy of a nation. The primary and secondary school education are the most important. They are the pillar of education.

Since your government have negleted those why are u suprised they are about to neglect this. Its only a matter of time

go work in any government institutions without a certificate, vy for any post without certificates. Granted I get your point about about the FG ignoring important things in the country.

Lol
Won't ASUU members vote too?
It's the responsibility of every Nigerians to vote,
This is Nigeria, in the end most of the lecturers will still consider tribe and religion first when voting.
Most of them are partisan too, regardless of the outcome of this saga, they will still be loyal to their parties. Just like that barrister that was kidnapped due to the rife insecurity, a staunch supporter of Buhari, he still came to declare his support for him after his release.

About your last point, the problem is ASUU think they are fighting, but in reality they have no opponent, or better still they ate fighting shadows.

It's almost 7 months now, what's the effect of their "fight" on FG?

the effect, students at home, realizing the Rot in the Educational system by the federal government and a country’s educational system collapsing for 7 months as you put it. Look at federal government run primary and secondary schools, those ones have no union, they have given in to whatever the federal government does, look at the state they are in all over the country, years of neglect by the government meant to run them. Unqualified staffs, and ridiculous embarrassing pays. This same system is what the FG wants in their federal institutions? Same neglect. The workers are protesting all these and striking to show their right and you call their fight, a fight with shadows. If it is so , then leave them like that. Since practically every institution run by the government is just a shadow of neglect, Hospitals, schools, Nipost, Police stations, prisons, secretariats, and now creeping into the Universities.
