It’s morally bereft for the Obidents to nail Tinubu to a coffin over the confessions of ex-Governor Ambode, who said he lost his second term bid due to his refusal to pay the demands of 50 billion Naira annually to the Lagos landlord, and yet not nail Peter Obi beside the same coffin of Bola Tinubu for the same greed and criminality when he demanded 7 billion Naira from Willie Obiano for making him Governor.

It’s unfortunate that those who claim to be the drivers of the New Nigeria have continued to stay biased and wish to impose on us all a Trojan horse as President, even when it’s evident enough that Peter Obi cannot fly in the manner in which they are selling him. Despite their attempts to decorate him as a saint, the truth about his character cannot be wished away.

If the acclaimed drivers of the New Nigeria, which perhaps is a hoax and mere social frenzy, claim to be against corrupt leaders, then a name like Peter Obi can never be the chief driver of the so-called New Nigerian moment, given that he is no different from those they chastise. However, Like Peter Obi, like Bola Tinubu, and a host of others.

The fallout of former Governor Willie Obiano and his predecessor, Mr. Peter Obi, was the former's refusal to grant the latter's request, who had already positioned himself as Anambra State's godfather, to siphon the state's limited resources for personal gain.

Without Willie Obiano's bravery and love for Anambra state, we would have had a state that served as a dollar printing machine for Peter Obi and his cronies. Ndi Anambra had no idea that they owe Willie Obiano eulogies for saving the state from a Tinubu diorama in the person of Peter Obi.

After taking a public oath to die with the APGA, Peter left the party and fought tooth and nail to unseat the party in Anambra State twice, but failed miserably. He claimed he was forced out of APGA, but no one has ever asked the actions of anyone that forced him to leave APGA, or what request he made that justified him leaving a party that built and shaped his political journey and he vowed never to leave, if he does, let his children and family die.

Peter Obi demanded to be paid 7 billion naira annually, which he claimed was the money used to finance Dr. Willie Obiano's campaign in 2013 and that those who invested wanted their money back. Whereas it was clear that Obiano campaign was funded by the state and not any individual.

He threatened Willie Obiano to honor the agreement of paying him annual 7 billion naira from Anambra coffers or lose his second term bid. It was his threat to deny Obiano his second term bid as a result of his refusal to pay his demand that led to the party dropping him (Obi) as leader of APGA, which led to him leaving the party and swearing to fight Obiano with the last drop of his blood, which he did till the latter left office.

I laugh whenever I read on social media that Peter Obi is a saint who has never been to the EFCC or anywhere in the case of corruption. It rather shows the hypocrisy of those who are engaging in the trend and frenzy of New Nigeria with the roguish Peter Obi as their chief driver.

It’s perplexing that these groups have continued to choose whom to investigate and whom not to. They have a list of those to accuse and call enemies, and exonerate those who appear to be their friends. If not, it smacks of hypocrisy not to interrogate the many accusations leveled against Peter Obi, only to run amok against the others who have committed the same crime with their lord and personal savior.

There’s no ex-governor who is more corrupt than Bola Tinubu and Mr. Peter Obi, but surprisingly, one is being demonized while the other is perhaps nicknamed a saint. This is obviously the sad story of our nation; selective judgment.

Willie Obiano, who resisted every attempt and provocation to expose Peter Obi, whom he regards as a brother and benefactor, was responsible for Peter Obi not being arrested and investigated when he left office as Governor. Many people who know Obiano personally, aside from the stereotypes in the media, would attest to his overly gentle nature, stating that he would never intentionally harm even a house fly, let alone witch-hunt anyone.

We must continue to give deserved eulogies to former Governor Willie Obiano for not allowing Anambra's limited resources to be used to service the greed of pseudo-saint Peter Obi and still did not make a noise about the many evil of his predecessor, who demanded his head be served on a platter due to his nature and resolve to remain a gentle man.

It’s sad that the supporters of Obi are not interested in issues but are apostles of rhetoric and the gamut of hypocrisy. They are rather fixated on the deception, unrealistic tales, and emotional play of their master, Peter Obi. But then, Nigerians are wiser.

In terms of corruption, Peter Obi is the avatar of Bola Tinubu. Both have been implicated in drug syndicates and a slew of other corruption allegations, but so-called New Nigeria advocates have only focused on one, despite the fact that the two cannot be separated.
