This one na PR, just like giving Tompolo 4 billion monthly na another PR. It's now clear to everybody, international community inclusive that what has been going on in our oil industry na FG backed oil theft. Just like it was under Abacha.

People think that Paul Ogwuma opened the vault of CBN for Abacha to loot abi? Gist!!! Abacha simply did what this present FG is doing now, state backed oil theft. Criminals, bandits, economic terrorists

Nigerians elected Abacha men in 2015.

confluence:
this is 2022 for God sake, what kind of nonsense is this, does it mean the government is not current with the total number of output production?

According to the report, the government relies on the oil firms to tell them how much they have produced. What a shame!

Sometimes I am just so tired reading any news about this country... the lunacy and idiocy is so sky high. I tire!

Nothing good will come out of it as long as Northern Nigerians People Committee (NNPC) are involved.
Sell NNPC first and allocate oil wells to states directly instead of retired generals and politicians.

Not only install flow meter, They should install a tracker that sends real time data to the manufacturer of the tracker and also tamper proof as obtainable on Ships

But this is Nigeria.... everyone is a THIEF!!!

This news makes no sense to me, is NUPRC willing to pay operator's for crude oil that are stolen via the pipeline if the metered product doesn't does not reflect what is received at the terminal?
Companies are shutting in their Wells due to theft, all you are concerned is metering instead of protecting their products and guaranteed their sustainability in business.
Producers should accept this and ensure they are paid for products that are stolen after theve been metered and injected their crude through the export pipeline

It is common sense as a one in the oil and gas industry that all parties involved are meant to be involved in the metering and reconciliation process.

So previously the FG was just sitting back and getting 60% without getting involved in metering?

This is the right way to go!

It is preposterous that Nigeria had all these years left the mainstay of its economy entirely in the hands of these dubious multinational oil firms who had been declaring false data to shortchange the country since time immemorial!

My fear is that the Nigerian factor would still bog down the smooth and sustainable operations of these meters.

Just like moving from one set of thieves to another equally deadly and mindless thieves.

Abi no be Naija again?

You want to install a different metering at flowstations I guess,,, whereas the data from the existing metering system haven't been properly accounted for.
Majority of oil theft happens at the loading platform and not along the export pipelines from the flow station.

Buhari and APC simply want to do another elephant project to fill their pocket.

How do you explain that with all the security and regulatory agencies at the crude loading platforms, the amount of crude that enters the platform can't be accounted for and no one is being held responsible.

Way to go. It's a shame that no government before now has thought about this; after several decades of exploration.... And some people still dey criticized the move. I wonder whose interest some people dey protect sha.

"We shall, we will." Who pays for the lost crude caused by inaccurate metering?

Nigeria has always been at the receiving end.

I recall our visit to a fuel receiving platform at Okrika, Rivers State some years back, the metering system at the receiving section of NNPC was completely bad therefore, the entire figure was obtained from the records provided by the discharging vessel.

No one bothered to replace the defective meter even after it was recommended for replacement.
