A yet-to-be-identified woman has reportedly fainted after Anambra State Government totally demolished her multi-million naira building in Edoji, Uruagu Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of the state.

The said building, a duplex, was one of the structures crushed down last Friday by an agency of the state government, Anambra State Physical Planning Board (ANSPPB), in an operation led by the Board's Chairman, Barr. Chike Maduekwe, on the ground that they were built on access roads, thereby obstructing further developments in the area.

Barr. Maduekwe, while addressing newsmen after the demolition exercise, also revealed that the area where the structures were erected at Uruagu is a government-approved layout, the master plan of which has been bastardized by unapproved developers, hence the decision to pull down the unauthorized structures, having served them several warnings, which they ignored.

The story, however, became more dramatic when the owner of the duplex, a woman who lives in a rented apartment, literally fainted when she drove home with his children and a truck-load of household properties to furnish her new house, only to see that the building has been crushed to rubbles.

A video from the scene currently trending online shows the fainted woman lying unconscious on the ground, while villagers gathered to sympathize with her.

A vehicle carrying her new household properties meant for furnishing the new house is also seen in the video, standing motionless, with the properties still on board.

The video also shows the villagers calming and sympathizing with a son of the unconscious woman, as he weeps around in discomfort.

It was gathered that the woman was eventually rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently responding to treatments.

The governor is going about this demolition wrongly. Anyone that has an authentic C of O should be compensated handsomely. Not just issuing demolition notice.

He should remember that these are the people that voted for him, and they did that to make life easier not to make their lives uncomfortable

So sad, there should be compensation before any demolition is been carried out

Govt derives pleasure in putting people into more pains.

This is very very appalling, if the government did not compensate and/or served her notice.

Keep emotions and sentiments aside when it comes to illegal structures and shanties. Nigerians admire developed countries a lot but wouldn’t want to go through the hassles of success...most Nigerians are impatient and wouldn’t want to experience the right stages of success/development...everything should be sharp sharp.

Same pple insulting the govt of being inactive to infrastructure development in a state will come back to hurl insults on same govt when they start doing the right thing.

Even if the white man should come back and recolonise una,most una nonsense will be curtailed,most of the magnificent structures u built for yourselves will be demolished for a better city plan/urban experience

So going by ur logic because someone voted in a govt so therefore whatever good policies/decisions the govt has to take must be in his/her favor even though it goes against development plan.

Most Nigerians are only mouth and saliva,they cry day in day out for good governance on social media but deep in them they’re d opposite of what they cry about.

That is how Anambra people packaged this fraud. The same way they are packaging the obi fraud. Months after taking office, no achievement just demolition.
