…calls for a change in narrative among youths

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) Flag bearer for AGUATA Federal House of Representatives, Emma Ezeokafor, has condemned in strong terms the gruesome attack on the party’s leader’s motorcade at Enugwu-Ukwu, ANAMBRA State, Sunday, September 10, 2022. He described the incident, which saw the narrow escape of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah while several others were killed in cold blood, as a traumatizing one and enjoined all young people of value in the state and country at large to see this as a wake up call to start taking charge of narratives being spread among the populace from that of violence to that of peace.

In his words, “the people that perpetrated this wickedness were young people like you and I and we need to see it as a wake up call to start changing the narrative to that of peace among fellow young people. This is the only way we can stop such from repeating itself.

“We cannot continue to allow ourselves to be used by desperate persons who believe that it is only with violence that they can achieve their purposes. We cannot continue to allow our kind to be used against our brothers just for selfish purposes. No life is what losing for any body’s ambition.

“We need to start re-educating ourselves on the value of human life; the need for peaceful resolutions and the fatality of violence and war which are evil winds that blow nobody any good at all,” Ezeokafor said.

It would be recalled that the motorcade of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, leader of YPP was allegedly attacked by unknown gunmen and several of his aides and police escorts lost their lives.
