The Commissioner of Police Abia State command, CP Janet Agbede has ordered the unconditional and immediate release of one Mrs Benson Azubuike, wife of an Ex-Police officer who was detained at Okpuala Ngwa Police Division in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia State, ABN TV reports.

Mrs. Azubuike was detained for alleged N50,000 debt which she paid after leasing some of her properties, one Emma.C. Jiakponnah, SP Rtd & former PPRO Zone 9 Umuahia alleged in a post.

She was also mandated to pay the sum of N30,000 for bail as well as N4,000 as counter money after struggling to offset the said debt.

Jiakponna alleged in his SOS call to the Commissioner of Police, “The wife of an ex-police officer, Benson Azubike who had a challenge while in active service & is totally blind, was arrested yesterday, Friday,9/9/2022 at Okpuala Ngwa Police Division in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, for owing someone #50,000.

“The condition given for her release was to pay half of the money which was met after pledging many properties. Yet the woman-IPO insisted on completing the #50,000 b/4 bail will be granted which made the woman to sleep in the cell. After much struggle & borrowing today, 10/9/2022 #50,000 was brought to the Police & she’s asking for #30,000 bail & #4000 counter money.”

The public relations officer of Abia State police command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna in a statement on Tuesday said the command is not in support of the action of the Okpuala Ngwa division of police.

He said, “The State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in totality condemns, dissociates itself from such unprofessional conducts and wishes to state unequivocally that the said Ex-Police officer’s wife was released unconditionally that same Saturday night.”

Abeg detain her, she must pay 1000000 bail out or go to jail, or label her ipob informant and send her to dss dungeon. This is what civilians face from her husband.
