TOPIC: JESUS: THE LAMB FOR OUR SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION
TEXT: JOHN 1:29; 2:5; 3:16
John 1:29
° The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
John 2:5
° His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
John 3:16
° For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

INTRODUCTION
Tonight, as we begin this GCK with the theme, the All-Sufficient Jesus, we are looking at John 1:29. We see Jesus who is sufficient for every problem, sickness and challenges. He brings miracles into our lives through the power in His name.

ch 2:5. Christ was to perform the first miracle in His ministry. His mother told Him that they had no wine, but He told her that His Hour had not come. He didn't want her to exercise control over His ministry. So, she told them, "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." Before He will do anything in your life, He wants you to do some things, and as you obey His words, miracles, signs and wonders will happen in your life.
ch 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." He brings life everlasting to all who believe and come to Him for salvation.

A. THE LAMB OF GOD SACRIFICED FOR OUR SINS (John 1:29-32; Isaiah 53:7; Acts 6:27-35; 1 Peter 1:18-19)
You have to look away from everyone who is promising you anything, and focus on the Lamb who has power to take away the punishment, pollution and dominance of sin. The world is polluted and damaged by sin, and Jesus is the only One who can take away all sins of all types. Sin damns the soul, ruins everything in our lives, and coming to Jesus brings salvation to every soul.

How does He take your sins away? You behold and accept Him as Lord and Saviour, you confess your sins and forsake them, then you will hand over your life to Him completely.

Isaiah 53:7 "He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth." He suffered for us, yet, He did not open His mouth to complain about, or dodge it. He was beaten, a crown of thorns was laid on him, He was nailed to the cross, hands and legs, He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, yet, He opened not His mouth, not that He was guilty of any sin, but for our sakes. In return, and in gratitude, you turn away from your sins, and to Him.

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" (1 Peter 1:18-19). Nothing we have or acquire can save us from sin and give us eternal life. None of what we have can save or redeem us from sin. It is the blood, not the labour of our hands, or efforts or good works. We are saved, redeemed and our lives are turned around by the blood.

B. THE LEADER FROM GOD SUPPLYING OUR NEEDS SUPERNATURALLY (John 2:5-11; Isaiah 55:4-5; Philippians 4:19; Psalm 84:11-12)
A wedding was holding here and they ran out of wine, not palm wine or any other alcohol-based drink. They needed more wine to help them enjoy the rest of the ceremony. There are times when wine runs out in our lives, and joy and wellbeing disappear, but Jesus has the power to restore all that we have lost. Here the mother of our Lord told the people there to ensure that they do whatever He said. She didn't say they should listen to her, she pointed them to Jesus. As I point you to Jesus tonight, salvation, satisfaction, healing and deliverance will be yours.
When Jesus speaks, it is not to your reasoning or logic, but to your hearts and faith. He told the people to fill the empty pots with water - he was not speaking to their brain and reasoning, and logic. Anytime the Lord speaks to you, you must not respond by logic or put whatever He says inside the box of human perception.

Believe on Him and trust Him for all your sufficiency. Turn to Him and look away from every other thing and salvation, healing, deliverance, supply of all needs and satisfaction will be yours.

Psalm 84:11-12 "For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee." The provision of God is like the sun which shines round the world and benefits everyone. God serves and blesses everyone and every good thing we need He brings to us. He will remove every shameful and disgraceful thing and replace with His glory. He will remove every gloom, evil, judgment, disgrace, degradation and give you grace and glory, no good thing will be withhold from you. He makes us to walk uprightly, and nothing good - salvation, healing, supply, etc - will be withheld from us in Jesus name.

C. THE LIFE OF GOD GIVEN BY THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO BELIEVING SONS (John 3:16,36; 20:30-31; Romans 6:22-23; 1 John 5:12-15,20-21)
He gives us all the goodness we need, He supplies every need and changes all that need to be changed in our lives.

As you come to the Lord, you have something good from Him. He loves the whole world and gave us His only begotten Son, all who believes on Him will be saved, and will not perish. All who labour and labour in place of genuine repentance, on the final day, their labour will not save them. The good work we do will not save us. Only our faith in Him will give us everlasting life, a life of grace, and godliness will be your portion the moment you come to Him.
Heads bowed and eyes closed. Come to the Lord tonight.
