Drugs are substances with physical and psychological effects. The effects of various drugs can vary. Long-lasting and irreversible health effects are among the side effects of several drugs. They could continue on even after the person has quit using the drug.

The habitual use of addictive substances leads to drug abuse or addiction. Alcohol, marijuana, hallucinogens, and opioids are examples of drugs. Drug addiction is a sickness that drives people to consume drugs compulsively in spite of negative effects.
