Carl Tanzler was a German radiology technologist who fell in love with a lady several years after she was allegedly shown to him in a vision by his ancestor as his one true love. He became so obsessed with her that he refused to let her go when she died. Instead, he broke into her grave, stole her body and kept it in his house for seven years. During that time, no one knew what was going on in his house as he dressed the lady's body in clothes and scents. He even danced with her broken body after filling it with plaster, and sat her at the dinner table. When he was eventually discovered, all hell broke lose. But he also made some fans who were sympathetic towards his him. Tanzler's story has been told for decades as people continue to be intrigued with his incredible obsession for the woman he fell in love with.
