A Nigerian widow who lost her husband at the age of 23 has shared a video showing what she was subjected to by his kinsmen.

The mother-of-two – a boy and a girl – shared a video showing women in the community shaving her head with a blade after her husband’s death.

She added in the caption that her husband’s family took everything from her, leaving her to care for the kids alone.

She is still young and pretty. Meaning she can get another husband that will wipe away her tears.

Collecting her husband's property and not asking about the kids are barbaric. The people who do it will surfer.

Shaving off her hair is a cultural practice. If there are women who willingly accept it in the same community, I do not condemn it. Let those who dislike it marry to other communities. The shaving was even done by women who do not look violent in the picture. But if all the women in the community are against it, let it be abolished. Some cultural practice that do not harm lives should be respected, and should not be condemned just because of sentiments and emotions. If you make everything subjective (by choice), there will be nothing left to be called culture. Women shave off their hair on movie sets, some do it as fashion. This is a proof that it is not harmful. As long as you choose to identify with the culture, obey it. Do not embrace a culture and try to turn it up-side-down. If you are against women shaving off hair to mourn husbands, do not marry in the community where other women accept it. There are also places where men shave of their hair to mourn their wives.

This is bad. Men, we really need to put somethings in place (like education insurance) if we can afford it to enable our kids future to be secure.
