Yes she can if she is authorized to work in USA

My question will be, why is the husband not in the US with her?

Yes and no.

Yes if she has work authorization, not a student and earns good salary

No if she has no work authorization, still studying like many of our people with wives abroad are doing to stay in the US or earning low salary

The questions are: what is her immigration status, how much does she earn, is she in school?

No she can't do it alone. The husband should do his bit. Living in the US is super expensive for only one income source except if that one income source is from 150K and above. Rent is crazy, insurance premiums, childcare, depending on the ages of the children especially since na single parent for obodo oyinbo. They have to pay to do sports or any extra curricular activities.

It also depends on where (City and State) the woman is staying.

▪︎ Survive with what earnings though? To tell whether she can survive , we at least to know how much earnings we are talking about here.

▪︎And why would the husband, the father of the kids, not expect to send money to support what is his own family, regardless of exchange rate, because she lives in the USA? Why would he even expect his wife to foot all the bills on her own? Does a father ever get a break or holiday from being a father? So why would high exchange rate be reason for a father to consider taking such a break from what are his responsibilities?

As you can see, if she works FULL time as a care giver, her family is just around the poverty line in the US.

I am afraid rather than cut out completely, the man and woman should negotiate a contribution ratio that will work for both of them. Again, there is no taking a break as far as ones responsibilities as a parent is concerned.
