The All Progressives Congress, APC, may be facing a major crisis soon as the Northern Christian block of the Party led by Ex-SGF, Babachir Lawal and Former Reps Speaker, Yakubu Dogara are currently engaging with other political parties for a possible defection.

POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that Lawal and Dogara have been at loggerheads with the leadership of their party over its choice to field Two muslim candidates for the 2023 Presidential Elections.

Both men pledged to mobilize Northern Christians against the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Ticket. Speaking to Punch in a recent interview, Lawal said;

“What we are doing is for the sake of Nigeria. Of the 18 political parties in the country, we are talking to the Peoples Democratic Party, the Labour Party, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party. It is only the APC that has rejected us; the other 17 parties have not. So, those three are in the foreground of our discussion for now, but no decision has been taken.”

“Yes, Abiola and Kingibe did it but was the election not annulled? Have these people bothered to find out why the election was annulled?”

“I am a member of the APC but we are the voices of those who have been mistreated. Since it is too late to form our party now, we are evaluating the options before us.”

“We are open to listening to parties that are receptive to us. You know, some people are friendlier than others. Whatever the outcome, we will let you know but to tell the truth, we are in talks”.

Babachir said is his last statement that they are open to consultations from Tinubu and that he hasn’t reached out to them.

It is unlike Tinubu not to reach out, but if he truly failed to reach out, then that means he is tired of this man excess because Lawan threw caution in the wind.

If he’s truly a Christian, he won’t embezzle IDP camp money of his fellow Christians in the infamous grass cutting issue.
