Alms begging is another devastating sector of public disease that is treated with the wave of the hand. You go to board flight in peace and get to your destination, airport workers will begin to beg you money as if giving of alm is no longer a thing of freewill. If the salary government or the aviation company they work for is not sustaining them, is it from the pockets of those going their private businesses that money should be sourced to augment it? A good service attracts alm. When a person feels your service satisfied him or her, money will be given without having to beg the person. You go to the park to board vehicle to your destination, a lot of people will start dragging your cloth and placing before your face a frame or paper that suggests they are collecting alms for a motherless children's home, but in the actual sense, they are not. Someone else arrives from nowhere and starts praying. A minute later, they begin to ask for money as if you sought their one minute prayer. You keep seeing the same faces for the same mission every day. You cross a pedestrian path to the other side of the road, children from Mali and far North in their great numbers begin to touch you on the cloth. You wonder what could be giving a man or woman the drive to be giving birth every now and then when they know there's nothing with which to take care of them. On the road now heading to somewhere, you are faced with stick-wielding young people who call themselves "produce IGR people". A foot forward, a civilian collecting money for army at a military checkpoint asks you of money. Two feet forward, a police checkpoint beckons. You must settle or you are impounded. There's no how equipped you can be that they won't find a fault on your vehicle. You will park well. The police usurp the functions of the VIO and Road Safety Corps. You move forth, a Road Safety checkpoint mounts. You have got to drop something in cash so they don't delay your journey. You try to pass through a rural track road, some youths mount a roadblock. They have a certain amount they collect before allowing you passage if you are not from the community. A public road for that matter, just that you want to dodge traffic congestion or bad road. You move again, you find some men sand filling potholes on a collapsing federal road. You have to drop something for them. All these are a sign of a failing federation. NCN. 3 Likes 1 Share |
