IYC: Oron Nation Seeks For Akwa Ibom Zone

The Oron people in Akwa Ibom state who are from Ijaw extraction have insisted of having their zone.

The demand was made during their meeting with the president of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) worldwide, Dcn.(Comr.) Peter Timothy Igbifa in his Portharcourt office on Tuesday.

Speaking to Myrrh Reporters immediately after the meeting, the leader of the delegation, Comr. Okon Etim Asuquo who is currently the secretary general Oron Union Portharcourt branch and secretary INC Oron Nation said they came to meet with the IYC President for his supports.
“we came here to meet with our national leader and to solicit his supports for our clanship and possibly become a zone of our own.

Okon said they are very vicious as far as Ijaw Youth Council and Ijaw National Congress activities is concern.
He also expressed his total displeasure over unfair treatment given to the Ijaw people in Akwa Ibom state over the years.

You will recalled that the Ijaw people in Akwa Ibom state were in the last Ataba constitution review/adoption convention, unveiled their longtime worries which have everything to do with having their own zone.

Myrrh Reporters also confirmed that Ijaw people in Akwa Ibom state are occupants of 7 oil rich local government areas which includes;
Eastern Obolo, Ibeno, Mbo, Oron, Udung-Uko, Urue/Offong/ Aruko and Okobo.

Some notable among the delegation were the Chairman caretaker committee of Eastern zone, Comr. Gabriel Sampson and Comr. Isaac Ikpe, member caretaker committee Eastern zone.

Their is no news that is breaking here Mr. Op. Oron, Ibeno and some others in Akwa Ibom are Ijaws right from time immemorial unless you are not aware.

Ijaw is an ethnic nation that comprises of different sub ethnic groups under it all of one ancestor. The largest one is Izon. the other ones are Kalabari, Nembe, Okrika, Ibani, Ogbia, Obolo, Oro Engenni, Abua etc. They are all Ijaws because they share one Ancestry not because of one language. It is now that we arranging a central dialect different from the Kolokuma we use of which this one will be of the interest of all Ijaws even as we prepare for Ijaw Republic.

IYC Eastern Zone conducted a new election and a winner emerged, and he has be swear in, why is that young man calling him self chairman caretaker committee of IYC Eastern zone... This is the problem with our youths... God please save this youth... Abeg change them, that is why evil wicked old men they use dem play..
