We thank you Lord for another beautiful day and making us partakers of this beautiful day. We pray O Lord that new things will be done in our lives today in Jesus name. We pray that as we leave our various homes to our workplace, schools you'll protect us, protect our families, keep us from evil and accidents, grant us favor before God and man, let us be remembered for good in Jesus name and at the end of today we'll have cause to rejoice in Jesus mighty name. Amen. Goodmorning beautiful nairalanders, have a great day ahead.

Hmmmmm, one thing about some of our policy especially on law enforcement is that majority are illogical and unreasonable, why should every drone need the NSA clearance when some are just toys with no significant threat to anyone nor state.
Can't there be a benchmark on the type of drone that should warrant a clearance?
I believe drone has different range, battery and recording capacity, can't all this be used to set a standard?
So if my son of 10yrs wants to play with a drone, he go need go ONSA for clearance

But why where the drones impounded, those are high tech machines , by the way thats good to hand over better than burning it like the Navy did yesterday on an illegal oil tanker.
That one was done to cover up their mess. How can they set a whole vessel ablaze in a hurry without investigation just like that? Our security agencies are terrible, worse than boko haram.
The moment I saw that in channels TV I said, tompolo was right by saying both army and navy were complicit in the oil theft.

Wrong question. Why should the drones be impounded in the first place?

Somebody invented laws on the spur of the moment and prohibited those drones so that a relative in customs could seize the entire consignment and make it the property of the enterprising officers who then sold the lot to the Navy for tidy profit.

And they all lived happily ever after, except for the person who lost maybe $300K USD on the purchase of that massive shipment of high tech drones.

The following people are VERY happy about this news.

1. Mohammed Abubakar - Nigerian customs

2. Abubakar Alli - Nigerian Customs

3. Mumuni Abdukadir - Nigerian Navy

4. Abdulahi Mohammed - Nigerian Navy

With the profitable sale of those reallocated drones, all of the above fine gentlemen have now successfully raised the funds needed to embark on either Lesser Hajj or Greater Hajj, where they will go and thank The Prophet for handing them The Profit to finance that trip to Mecca.

I don't understand why they seized the drones on the first place.

These drones are classified as hobbyist drones, for taking aerial pictures, videos and all of that.

I don't think they can be used for military op.

Unless you have access to the same information that Customs has about their capacity, your assertion that the drones are of hobbyist variety is pure speculation.
Re: Customs Hands Over 86 Impounded Drones To Navy by Msmither: 7:12am On Oct 12, 2022
Heheh, these are just toys compared to the ones used in the US to chase traffic offenders or surveillance monitoring.

These are just drones used for photography and their battery will die out in less than 20 to 30 minutes.

This country has misplaced it's priority, no wonder people are running out of the country.

For the sake of argument let us assume the drones are top-end real estate survey mapping drones with long flight times and 4K resolution cameras.

Does being able to afford such drones for purchase and resale constitute a crime in your expert opinion?

Why not tell the owners to go get the certificates of the drones ?.

If the law says you must obtain a certificate before importing, then seeking a certificate after you have already imported is against the law.
