PRIMING ABIA ECONOMY FOR EXPANSIVE GROWTH THROUGH THE TIGER ECONOMY

While I wholly agree that we have not arrived at where we wanted to be as a state in terms of economy and infrastructure, it will be very unfair for anybody irrespective of political interest to deny that the administration of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has not made significant progress in economic growth and infrastructural development.

The administration of Dr. Ikpeazu has created a clear roadmap that will accelerate infrastructural development and economic reforms for succeeding administrations.

Deny all you want, Aba the commercial capital of the southeast has today enjoyed remarkable infrastructural attention by Dr. Ikpeazu's administration, due to the reconstruction of so many roads in Aba, while more is still ongoing, Umuahia, the state capital has also received commendable attention.

The Ikpeazu Administration has also received national accolades for SME development, while Governor Ikpeazu's administration is a blessing for Abians when it comes to security.

In a few days' time, the TIGER ECONOMY blueprint as proposed by the incoming administration of Prof. Uche Ikonne will be launched, this document will expose to the Abia public the economic development agenda, policies, and activities that will be deployed to improve the economic and infrastructural well-being and quality of life of Abians.

One of the key areas that the TIGER ECONOMY is focused on is the improvement of SMEs’, access to finance and the creation of clear innovative solutions to unlock sources of capital. The incoming administration of Prof. Ikonne's approach to SME development is holistic, transparent, and progressive.

The TIGER ECONOMY will usher in fresh investment blueprints that will make Abia's economy more attractive to investors local and foreign, it will address areas of insufficient infrastructure, build strong and effective institutions, as well as address governance issues and public financial management systems.

Abia needs a man with the foresight, courage, determination, competence, and experience to identify, tackle the challenges and create the enabling environment for our economy to expand and usher in sustainable growth and prosperity, that man is Prof. Eleazar Uche IKonne, a renowned Professor of optometry, an experienced technocrat, an administrator par excellence, a creative thinker, God-fearing, open and innovative.

For a Greater Abia where every citizen will be secure, prosperous, participate, contribute and have a say on how he/she is being governed.
