The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed confidence that Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike will work for the victory of the party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 general elections.

Wike and his allies boycotted the flagoff of the party's presidential campaign which was held in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State capital on Monday.

The governor, who also pulled out from the presidential campaign has continued his demand for the resignation of the party's embattled national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

He also dealt with some of his erstwhile loyalists in Rivers State who are fraternising with Atiku, the recent being Sir Celestine Omehia whom he derecognised as a former governor of the state.

However, speaking with DAILY INDEPENDENT, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP National Publicity Secretary said the party leaders are united despite reports of a crack within its fold.

He said "Irrespective of the differences in opinion, we are united. All our leaders, governors and stakeholders have all agreed that there is a need for all of us to come together to rescue and begin the hard work of rebuilding".

"His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike, a very important member of this party who has done very well for this party and who has equally benefited extensively from this party, a party that brought him from obscurity to prominence is fully with us".

"He has said it severally that he is not leaving the PDP. What it means is that it is a family matter. We are having a conversation and all issues are being discussed. We are confident that everything will be resolved before we go into the election".

"We know that given the calibre of leaders that we have, we will take the concerns of Nigerians above our personal interests. We are all united to salvage the Nigerian people who have suffered so much under the rudderless, insensitive and inhumane government of the APC".

It's obvious both men are stubborn

Who has more to lose. Atiku or Wike

the longer the crisis, the worse it would be for the campaign in the affected States

Because if atiku wants to go to rivers to campaign, who would be need to do grassroots mobilisation for atiku, ditto for the other state govs supporting wike

But you know eh, I don't know why this fight for pdp just dey sweet me

Then they should allow Wike to speak for himself...!! All that matters is that Wike ain't a party to another Northern President and also will never support a Muslim-Muslim ticket...

That leaves him with only one option, your guess is as good as mine.

Nyesome will not bulge. Until that black man resigns ..... And without which PDP cannot win that presidential election.

God rules in the affairs if men including Nigeria. God is ready to rescue Nigerians from these pharoahs.

APC Internal crisis, PDP internal crisis. You see now...... That LP may cruise home with early victory.

God's will will always prevail.
Re: Debo Ologunagba: Wike Won't Dump The Party That Brought Him From Obscurity by Nobody: 6:37am On Oct 14, 2022
Lol. Wike wont dump a party he kept relevant. I remember how instrumental Wike was for PdP in 2020 Edo election. He stepped up as a leader when people left the party after the 2015 elections. I’m sure PdP would have been irrelevant today if Wike and co had not stepped up.

These guys think the party has done Wike so much good. Is it not the same Nigeria where people switch party everyday? How many times have PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate left the party? Wike would have gone elsewhere to achieve his ambitions if he needed to.

Wike has absolutely nothing to lose ...he has no ambition ..he knows his political career has ended

This is why north are scared of him ...they are used to southern politicians having ambition clouded in greed ....there is nothing north can offer wike now ...same as tinubu there is nothing tinubu can offer wike now , nothing absolutely nothing

Wike has all the cards n no body knows his next move

Wike , Kwankwanso, and Obi are making the game Easier for Tinubu. Most people thinking Wike will work for Obi/LP party don't understand that Most elite don't rate Obi and his brand of politics. Wike and gang won't fight the battle and hand over the bounty to a deserter.
