The people supporting this monster called Dangote are the products of slavery. Doest it even make sense that what we see here is Obajana town. Dangote doesnt have a heart in his chest

Nigerians always blaming government irresponsible actions on others. Is it the duty of dangote to provide hospitals, good roads and all other amenities ,when this same obajana local government is receive millions upon millions every month?
Except dangote isn't paying it's taxes regularly, of it is,what is the state government doing with local government allocation provided for this local government?
This seems to be the entitlement mentality of Africans ,once you are successful and living in an area they believe you should take responsibility for everything In that area.
Not siding dangote , because they too should have done one or two things as social responsibility in that area , even if it is just an hospital

the documentary is showing the monumental failure of gov. Yahaya bello. when have it become the responsibility of Dangote cement to provide social amenities for Kogi state. i have said that this is a war that Kogi state will loose, Benue state did the same thing to BCC cement when it was sold to Dangote, now BCC cement is dead. if worst come to worst Dangote will relocate the cement factories to another location within Nigerian.

First you need to understand what social responsibility is all about, it has nothing to do with contract of any kind. Organisation like companies are supposed to invest in their host communities by building basic amenities and infrastructures because that's where they make billions from annually, thats how its done everywhere in the world.

Companies spend as little as they can.....they have to sign on to retain responsibilities. For instance ... if there is an opportunity spill by Exon in Nigeria ... do you think they will be socially responsible and voluntarily do the clean up? Same scenario in the US ... do you think they will clean up? It depends on what's in the contract. Look at the Chinese and other companies operating... what do they care about social responsi ility? Instead of building roads they destroy roads ... disrupt local life... cause serious health issues.... in the end pack up and leave locals in the mess and suffering. Social responsibility needs to be imposed.

Kudos to Yahaya Bello for standing up to the shylock and bully called Dangote, always hiding behind Govt to exploit people.

Not an easy feat.

One thing I know is, Dangote did not become a billionaire by signing shoddy contracts. Dangote even if he is cutting corners, will have international lawyers who will scrutinize all the loopholes and eventualities. If Kogi state had any concrete proof that Obajana was illegally bought, they would have approached the court long before now. Yahaya Bello is just an agbero trying to get Dangote's attention for a settlement.

This is why big co-operations don't invest in Nigeria. We like electing agberos to leading us and they will just wake up one day and spoil multi-billion dollar businesses because their personal interest is not included. These companies run on loans and can not afford to be grounded for months because of one agbero's personal interest. The Agbero knows you can't go to court because it will take years to get justice and by then interest on your loans alone will kill your business.

If you were from Kogi, or Kogi State governor, would you maintain that your position?

All these is Kogi State government responsibility. It's not the responsibility of Dangote to build roads, schools and hospitals. It's the government's agreement and responsibility. Dangote only has a duty of care, which is conscience not law.

Obajana is not even a Local government. it is a hamlet without any basic amenities before Dangote cement got there.

The video is one sided, they need not show the road Dangote constructed.

The video should show a balance explanation and should not be one sided.

Anyways it is the name you give yourself that people will call you.

If the state government has shown some appreciable presence there, maybe just maybe Dangote would have complimented government effort

Imagine, look at what they have as health center, why will the government blame someone's else for their own failure?

i am sure that the public schools there will be an eyesore. that is if there any

Thank you for this!...people just argue based on politics, ignorance and their biased mind...The part that even made me sad is the fact that same cement is sold at lesser price up north and multi-billions project is being executed there also while your host community is left to suffer!

How is that the fault of Dangote? Blame your Southern Cement dealers for the price hike. Everything is cheap in the North. Even Gari that is produced in the South is still cheaper in the almighty NORTH.

The almighty NORTH no be una mate

Most host community leaders prefer you give them the money make them share it.

Even govt officials prefer bribe instead of tax collection.

Quite sad to watch. Dangote cement should do more CSR to their host community. Good side is CSR is tax deductible (my understanding) so the company isn't losing much.

I know there are situations where the chiefs usually sabotage CSR and would rather take the money but for host communities like this, companies should please do more.

A good health facility or portable water system will be of great value.

Obajana is a multi-billion naira company that employs thousands of Kogi indigenes and settlers. It pays over a billion naira tax to the state government every year in PAYEE alone. People's livelihood and govt tax depends on the company being operational. The deplomatic thing to do when there is sensible grievance is to approach the courts. The workers will still earn their pay while the case is in court and govt will get it's taxes too. A win win for everyone.
