Diogo Dalot is one of the right-backs who has been linked with Barcelona for some time and, this Tuesday, there has been news over Barcelona possibly signing him. According to 'ESPN', even though Man Utd can renew him automatically, they will respect the player's decision. He has told the board to wait.

The reason is that he would rather decide later on what to do with his career next season. Leaving to play under Xavi Hernandez in La Liga is an option which attracts him, but he also has to realise that he is an important player at Old Trafford, where he has made important steps forward to become more important.

It would suit Barcelona perfectly if the Portuguese did not negotiate with the owners because, as he would become a free agent in 2023, the Catalan side would only have to reach an agreement with him to increase their ranks. Not paying for his transfer is their preferred option given the club's financial difficulties.

At the age of 23, Diogo Dalot would be a very interesting signing for Barcelona and he has a bright future. 'Sport' report that possible modifications to the squad for the second half of the season will be made in January. That could also see them preparing to sell Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay and Hector Bellerin.
