You were making sense until you got to this point. This is FALSE. You probably haven't done business in Nigeria before. There's a reason even middle-class people are running away from Nigeria.

The challenges that impede you from making money in Nigeria by far outweigh factors that help you grow your business. Insecurity, unstable currency, fear of the unknown, Nigerians keep electing idiots, etc. Apparently, only crime and politics thrive in Nigeria.

Student visa that states clearly that you must return to your country after studies. Though other pathway is there to get permit but na toilet last last he dey start from. It is even near impossible to do business abroad. Majority of rich people abroad (America in this case) are also 'japaing", renouncing their citizens to go to a tax friendly country. How much tax do people pay for their businesses here in Nigeria compared to abroad? Most people don't even pay tax at all. N50,000 daily is nothing, it is the average. It will shock you that the major akara woman in your street and the best mama put restaurant in the next street makes between 15,000 to 20,000 naira profit daily. 50k is nothing

You are ignoring other points I raised.

1. I mentioned idiots we have as politicians supported by fellow idiots. Damn! This country has a lot of idiotic electorates
2. Insecurity. Just anything can kill you in Nigeria, including bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, etc. Even the policemen and soldiers assigned to protect us can visit your village and kill every soul in it and nothing will happen.
3. Unstable currency. Just imagine the rate naira is losing its value. This is the biggest challenge. We import everything and the value of naira keeps deprecating every now and then.
4. Nigeria is not a sane country. You try to access public institutions, you get treated like trash, we have bunch of people always looking for how to exploit the next person, banks keep stealing from us, this country is full of opportunists and fraudsters trying to swindle you, etc.
5. Unemployment: Nigeria doesn't create opportunities for her people. After studying in varsities, you cannot even get a decent job. You still see companies paying graduates 30k. What can 30k do for a man? Even governors find it hard to pay minimum wage of 30k. undecided

Bros, I can go on and on.

The only people you can convince to stay back in this country and go through all this madness are those who cannot afford to leave the country. Of course, no country or continent can accommodate over 200m people.

So, stop deceiving people, please. There are lots of jobs in the United States and Canada. Those countries are very creative and keep creating jobs every now and then. Did I fail to mention that they have supportive governments and venture capital firms ready to invest in new business ideas?

In fact, I know what people who moved to the US just three years ago have been able to accomplish in Nigeria while many of us who are still here keep struggling to make ends meet.

Come to highbrow estates in the country. Majority of their house owners don't even live in Nigeria because genuine Nigerian hustlers cannot afford to acquire properties there. Nigerians who can afford expensive properties are those who have worked for decades or fraudsters.

Imagine that when you make just $1, you have #700. That means you can do so much with what you make over there. I have lots of friends and family members in the US and Canada. I won't advise anyone to travel to the UK because that country has nothing to offer. They don't have opportunities like the US and Canada.

So, huncle, rest! Allow those who want to leave to leave in peace because Nigeria has failed many of us.

Just leave this people alone. On every street you go see duplex, six flats built by people here in Nigeria. They live inside those houses with their wives and kids, two to three cars, paying for good schools somewhere around. When this UK bound people are traveling they underestimate those things until they get to UK and try completely a building 15yrs after they left

I thank God that we still have people like you in Nigeria. The biggest deception that has consumed many Nigeria youth is believing that studying abroad is equivalent to success.

Nigeria is passing through tough times but there are still two sectors that are worth investing - Oil and Gas / Transportation. If a youth learn the mode of operation of any of these two sectors and invest #5 million into it, he can generate over #50 million within three year. I am speaking from experience.

Such a youth can then enroll for an online course at any of the UK Universities. The certificate is just to make him to become one of the elite in our society since our people so much value UK education.

Studying abroad is meant for the children of the elites and not for hustlers. Any hustler who spend his savings studying in UK has turn himself into a White- man slave.

Let's just say it's different strokes for different folks. Canada and US are certainly better than UK but each to his own. Do what is best for you to fulfill your purpose.

100%. Education and the pursuit for certificate especially from abroad is killing Nigerians. I have never been crazy about going to abroad. I had the chance to go to Australia in 13 while I was still in school, but I jettisoned it so that I could round off my studies here. I still have that opportunity to go to the US, Canada or Australia, but I still don't fancy it. Even if I intend going, I will do so to learn a few things I need increase development here in my place. And not turn to a white man indirect slave.

A very sound basic education (secondary school) is ok. Anything higher than that is a setback and scam. But I am pro schooling in Nigeria. Do your bsc and Masters in Nigeria. I am anti schooling abroad

Some of the issues raised is the valid reason why Nigeria will never move forward. The mods will never push such topic to the front page. They love the kidnapping, robbery stories in Nigeria. Funny there are more crimes taking place in western societies than Nigeria. If you doubt me do a research yourself. People forget we came from a communal settings where loving and sharing bonds us together. It was our love to copy the white man's system that brought crime to Africa
