ABU. Reopens Monday October 24, Reviews Academic Calendar by Jatuski: 7:14pm On Oct 19, 2022
Following the calling off of the eight-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has announced Monday October 24 as resumption date.

This was contained in a Special Bulletin issued by the instituition on Wednesday October 19, 2022, published by the Public Affairs Directorate, Office of the Vice Chancellor, Senate Building, Ground Floor, Ahmadu Bello University,.

"Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria will reopen on Monday, 24th October, 2022 for resumption of academic activities following approval of the revised academic calendar for the 2021/2022 academic session by the Senate of the University at its 516th (Emergency) Meeting held today (Wednesday, 19th October, 2022)," it said.

According to the Special Bulletin titled, "RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES" the instituition said that the Senate has reviewed it's academic calendar.

"The calendar, earlier approved by the Senate at its 513th (Regular) Meeting held on 25th November, 2021, had to be revised largely due to ASUU's eight-months old strike which was called off only last week," it said.

ABU's mission is to, "advance the frontiers of learning and break new grounds, through teaching, research and the dissemination of knowledge of the highest quality; to establish and foster national and international integration, development and the promotion of African traditions and cultures; to produce high-level human power and enhance capacity-building through retraining, in order to meet the needs and challenges of the catchment area, Nigeria and the rest of the world" as captured by the Ahmadu Bello University Law, 1962
