Ameboperoo: Bongos wasn't a reggae musician. Also, his heyday was the 1970's and early 80's, when reggae was not that popular yet. |

Teeq1234: BLAKKY was more pop or dancehall, rather than reggae. (Rosie does sound like it could be a bit reggae tho). 1 Like |

Juniorangel: Not a reggae musician. As his Wikipedia article puts it Okosun's brand of African pop music, Ozzidi, is a synthesis of Afro-beat, reggae and funk music. So, influenced by reggae, but not a reggae musician. |

BalticGold: You haven't listened to some old Nigerian music. Most of the time, many people from generation to generation have said the same thing about the popular music of the day. When those reggae stars were around, as a child then, I can recall my very religious parents calling such music meaningless. (though my religious mum did once praise Fela for having a social message in many of his songs...even as she blasted his immoral lifestyle). |

At last! I've been unbanned! There's a particular reggae artiste whose videos I posted. It seems the anti-spam bot will ban you anytime you post his name. It banned me early this morning for posting his video. The mods released me and then it banned me again when I posted his second video. It took a long time before I was released and that's why I couldn't finish the thread. I'm going to finish it now. 3 Likes |

This naptu2 fellow deserves a national award for this thread. Listened to Tickle Me and I had goosebumps. Life was simpler then. Modified: So he is a Buhari supporter. Then I take back my words. A single man who has unleashed 3 recessions, boosted tribalism, has nepotism in his blood and has overseen the greatest destruction of lives and property since the civil war is not a man that any right thinking person should support 1 Like |

VULCAN: Brendaniel: The politics thread is right this way...good people. Yes over here. (I don't like APC or tinubu, or any of the other main parties, but there are times when we all need to take a break from politics..which is why we have alternative sections for that.). Brendaniel: Anyone here who is a propagandist for any politician, is a wicked man. Anyone here who supports any of the thieving and lying politicians, is a wicked man and will suffer the consequences. Say amen. Anyone that tries to stop anybody from legitimately criticising any of our politicians is a wicked man and will suffer the consequences. Say amen. I do not support any politician and I will criticise every politician, including the one you support and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. This is my last post to you.
