According to the ministry, "relief has gone to every state of the federation," and "many state governments did not prepare for the floods."

The country will soon implement its National Flood Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan, aimed at improving coordination of the flood response efforts.

A delegation organized by the ministry will be visiting state governors across the country to suggest strengthening states' flood response mechanisms.

Severe flooding has also affected other parts of Nigeria throughout the 2022 rainy season, which generally spans April to October. In the northeast, outbreaks of cholera are being attributed to water sources that have been contaminated by floodwater.

According to news reports, the flooding in Nigeria this year was the worst on record since 2012.

Why is the Minister of humanitarian and national disaster not doing anything, I've never even read his opinion and what the government has embark in helping those affected.
