To get accommodation in Nigeria is simultaneous with going through a thicket without a cutlass, you definitely will come out with bruises. House agents in Nigeria collect an outrageous amount of money from house seekers, and this extortion gets unchecked resulting in countless house seekers getting duped.
The industry seems unregulated and one begins to wonder if agent fee is legal.

According to the law, the agency or tenancy fee is 10% of the tenancy rates. However, agents demand more than 10% of the tenancy rates. Some landlords now act in the position of an agent, lawyers and landlords of their house, and they receive agency, caution and legal fee from desperate house seekers. What plausible solution do you think the government can help curtail this growing thorn?
