Lagos state IGR will suffer because importation will drop and tinubu's agberos won't see enough money to take from trucks carrying imported goods. If u think it's a joke tell tinubu and his stooge sanwo olu to close all markets dominated by Igbos ( Alaba, computer village, oshodi balogun, tejosho etc)! and see if Lagos won't become worst than zamfara in 6 months. that has always been the trend in Nigeria anytime a general election is coming but in this case, it is a great pity that it is the Yoruba presidential candidate that will suffer for this. most Yorubas supporting this think the impact and effects of these actions stays only in Lagos and that is where they are getting it wrong. now even the small votes apc is thinking of getting in the southeast is gradually slipping away. If you like, close the market for 2years, There is no where in Nigeria this isn’t happening, east and south, PH is the worst. Government too should stop multiple taxation The Igbos are doing this because of election Something you do in your region, you can not stop it in your region but want to stop it in Lagos just to cause trouble, They don’t have sense at all, always showing emotion rather than using logic. You do endsars, you do Alaba riot, May be you will still do Tinubu riot, we are waiting . Try riot in kaduna or Kano and see how much you will lose 19 Likes 1 Share |

God bless you my bro! I am a yoruba man and i detest these agbero activities. I paid agbero in Ariara market for goods purchased b4, same at ladipo market to igbo guys Let's rather fight to abolish agbero in the country instead of profiling a particular tribe. Better, the the market committee dialogue can with necessary authorities for a better and easy way of revenue collection. PureFace1: 9 Likes |

Islandlady: This is what they like, to bully people into silence and you just fell for their game. Those agberos are collecting taxes on behalf of the land owners for the use of their land, but the ibos don’t want to pay them because Lagos is no man’s land according to them. Whether they like it or not those agberos would continue to collect the taxes until a modern method is devised. In their biafra they have brutal agberos there who collect money from you for just passing on the road, and have you ever heard them complain? No! But when they get to Yorubaland, they suddenly develop wings and want to fly high because they say Yorubas are cowards. Enough of the gentleman attitude abeg, we’re in the era of gbas gbos. Any ibo that mentions me stupiidly should be ready to hear the history of ojuku this morning. 20 Likes |

Ade3131: The traders union in Alaba market is very strong, especially inside the main market. If Lagos State government says open the market and the union does not give the go ahead, it will remain shut. The union authorised the closing of the market just as the government played its own part to avoid further damage. This fight was long coming. They have had similar fights in Ladipo and Balogun markets several times. None yet at the trade Fair. It's only traders who feel the pain. Government has to look into the matter. The extortion is unbearable for everyone. Before now, what you could import at the rate of $400, you get at the rate of $750. Now you need to source for more naira to pay for your goods. On arrival at the seaport, tariffs have increased along with VAT. You pay shipping company and terminal owners. Customs do their own. You face transporters and then set off to the market. You encounter customs at Berger and Festac. You encounter NURTW and other touts on the road. Finally you get to Volkswagen where you pay that disputed bulky amount. For youths here who are so childish and cannot reason properly, ask yourselves who pockets those monies go to. They are not used to fix roads or develop the state. Alaba roads are very terrible. When the trucks pass Volkswagen, they encounter the local government team in front of their offices and then the "police armoured tanker" toll gate. Other ones wait as the truck progresses to the importer's warehouse. These things are killing. How can we have a country like this with crooks in different guises? Customers on foot are scared to get to the market because area boys are waiting to collect ground rent on the way out of the market. If we truly want a better country, we must rise against every form of injustice and overcome tribalism. Whatever happens in Alaba market, affects those others outside the market. Prices are determined there. Most of your electronics are sourced there. Your corner shop in your area where you purchase your generator, get their supplies from there. Now that the market is closed, prices would definitely rise, as dealers do not have where to restock from. Hopefully government can get it sorted out quickly and the unions open the market. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Realist12: Which other state in the country do you often hear violent clash between agbero and investors, is Lagos State been developed by the tax payers money or the ugly actions by the agberos. U support the agberos by going to disrupt a peaceful investment environment that the LASG has already created a better digital means of tax collection. The tinubu urchins game in Lagos has been exposed " creating a violent scene in Lagos just to tag it Peter Obi". Aren't u surprised how all you urchins moves turns to be a wasted moves, Obidient already has counters on all your pre-planned moves. As for your tinubu I've said it before now that tinubu is like a gyroscopes spinning around at a frantic pace but never going anywhere. 2 Likes 1 Share |

SugarGirl44: Your comment wreaks of not just outright ignorance but complete illiteracy. Looking at you, one may erroneously call you educated. Your education, I am sorry to say, seems wasted. How could you, a so called educated person, allow yourself to be ruled by an agbero, who is not educated? If not for ignorance, how would you not read and understand the facts of the matter before making your uninformed comment? Are the traders talking about payments to the owners of the land or the rip off by the so called owners of the land and their unbecoming attitude? I believe that you are still being spoon fed by your parents and not capable to pay bills now, otherwise you will understand that paying such huge sums to is too painful to bear. You use social media space to instigate violence, yet you are not strong enough for physical encounters. See as your head be like monkey own. 3 Likes 1 Share |
