No percentage of alcohol is acceptable to God or permissible in heaven, except if it is mistakenly taken. Many people will reach eternity before they discover alcohol to be one of the many things that can hinder one from seeing the all holy God on the last day. And this is simply because, whatever is capable of getting one intoxicated; wether taken in large or small quantity is injurious to the health. And from spiritual standpoint, alcohol is one of the constituent of the works of the flesh, as it appeals to the flesh and has nothing to do with the Spirit, and the bible clearly states that; nothing of the flesh will inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19 (KJV) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Galatians 5:21 (KJV) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 13:13 (KJV) Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

I went to the headquarters of a popular church in Abuja for a Thanksgiving Service. After the church service, there was a reception where there was an assorted alcohol on the list.

To my surprise, some of the clerics were served alcoholic drinks and they gladly indulged.

I am a born-again Christian because of my staunch faith in Christ Jesus and I also drink alcohol moderately. I don't believe I am morally wrong.

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: ... drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Good to know...so why are you on a thread for god believers?

People i don't understand...christians who carp on islam threads, muslims who carp on christian threads, and atheists who carp on threads
commenting about how better they are than everyone else because they don't believe in god.

Yes, it's good to know you are an atheist, and I appreciate that. I'm a theist myself. But one thing I don't like about your comment...and feel free to be angry at me, and all...is that you come across as proud, and irritating...and that turns people off.

If you want to open a thread telling people why you don't believe in gods, do so. But don't come on religion sites to be an irritant. It does not make you look wise.

Good to know you are an atheist. In ten years time, no one, including me and u, would recall this thread.

Mdified

If you opened a thread on this site about atheism, and I came here to tell all of you atheists, that I am a thiest, and you are all misguided, you won't like it. So why are you behaving like them fanatic thiest...only atheist?

The instance I saw this your write up,, I thought I would see some senses in it angry angry but I'm utterly disappointed that all this epistle you typed are complete bollocks!!!

Pls read your post again, how does that implies that a God exist anywhere?? U only rant on i shouldn't be in religion section because I was an atheist grin grin grin silly you are not the owner of this forum and you can't tell where to go or interract on this forum.

This forum belongs to nairalanders (I am one) and I can perform in every fvcking section I want.

Drinking of alcohol was never forbidden by Christ himself. In fact the very first miracle he performed was turning water into wine (although new age born again Christians lie that it was fruit juice and not fermented and distilled fruit juice), forgetting that technology for stoping fermentation of fruit juice is very recent).

In fact Jesus incorporated drinking of wine as a part of Christian communion as recorded in the last supper.
What the Bible preached against was drunkingness.

A born again should abstain from alcoholic drinks.

Don't indulge yourself in such things.

Imagine you went to preach to someone, and the next day the person sees you with a glass of stout, how will he feel.

Stay away from such folks that tells you it doesn't matter.

False. That's your personal or cult doctrine and not Christianity. No where in the Bible did it state that you go to hell by drinking alcohol.

How is taking alcohol in moderation something wrong? Did Jesus sin by changing water to wine? At least Christians look up to Jesus.
This is just like saying that King Solomon had so many concubines and therefore, there is nothing wrong about that since God chose him; Or saying King David is a man after God's heart, therefore everything he did was right.

Exactly, I cringe whenever I hear that talk that the wine mentioned in the Bible was 'non alcoholic wine'. How? When was non alcoholic wine invented? That's one question the fail to ask themselves.

[b]Who hath woe? Who hath sorrow? Who hath contentions? Who hath babbling? Who hath wounds without cause? Who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; They that go to seek mixed wine. Isaiah 28:7 KJV

It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
Romans 14:21 KJV

and I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine. But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:... Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;... And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you: therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.
Jeremiah 35:5‭-‬6‭, ‬8‭, ‬18‭-‬19 KJV

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.

I think sometimes, we overdo things as christians in this part of the world, the bible didn't outrightly condemn the intake of alcohol,it condemned excessive taking of it,the choice to abstain from alcohol entirely should be on a personal decisions and shouldn't be an avenue to label those who takes it as unserious christians or candidates of hell as many do.
So it should be served at church? Doctrines of devils

If it has no alcohol, then it cannot be referred to as wine. Its better to refer to it as un fermented and carbonated fruit juice in a bottle, like Ribena in a bottle.

Did Jesus himself not turn water to wine in the Bible?

Did the disciples not attend some family parties in which wine was served in the Bible?

There lies your answer cool

P/S - Drinking alcohol is not a sin, it's the practice of drinking and getting drunk that's a sin.
but not all wines are alcoholic
