The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the data for the recently completed voter's registration.

A total of 12,298,944 people were registered for their voter's cards. 9,518,188 were valid, while 2,780,756 were invalid.

According to the data, 22.6% of newly registered voters between June 28, 2021 and July 31, 2022, are invalid registrations. Approximately 23 in every 100 new registrations were invalid.

1. Bayelsa: 307,513

2. Ebonyi: 240,063

3. Rivers: 156,207

4. Delta: 153,679

5. Kano: 99,285

6. Anambra: 95,835

7. Osun: 94,379

8. Akwa Ibom: 91,098

9. Lagos: 80,728

10. Cross river: 77,020

Generally, the southern region has 1.77 million invalid registrations while the northern region has 1.01 million invalid registrations.

INEC explained that the reasons why the registrations were invalid were because some registered twice and some were under 18 years old. The voter's cards will be ready for collection soon.
