Peter Obi’s Presidential Campaign Manifesto, Out Or Not? by BethiMcCauley: 1:28pm On Oct 31, 2022 |
Thav TV As the 2023 Presidential Elections draw near, all presidential candidates are expected to come forth with their various presidential campaign manifestoes, however, while the general public anticipates the manifestoes from the three top Presidential contenders, Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed of the Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima of the All Progressives Congress (APC) there has been some drama surrounding the Labour Party’s presidential candidates manifesto. Earlier Monday morning, the 31st of October 2022, news of Peter Obi’s manifesto broke the internet with the circulation of a seven-point presidential campaign manifesto tagged ‘Our Pact with Nigeria,’ a 48-page policy document. Only hours later at about 09:11 a.m., the Labour Party’s presidential candidate released a statement via his official Twitter account distancing himself from the LP manifesto in circulation. He said: “We have not formally released our Manifesto. I will do so personally. It seems an earlier draft copy under review has made its way into the public space. Until I release the approved and final draft, please disregard what is being circulated.” However, at about 10:48 a.m., the verified Twitter page of the Labour Party tweeted in a now-deleted tweet saying that the manifesto had been released. The tweet with a download link said: “Download ObiDatti 2023 Presidential campaign Manifesto captioned; Our Pact with Nigerians: Creating a New Nigeria” Peter Obi is still yet to tweet to say whether or not the released manifesto is the original copy or still a leaked draft. https://thavmedia.com/peter-obis-presidential-campaign-manifesto-out-or-not/ |
