Intimacy Vs Infatuation: Strong Connection And Temporal Affection by sam20(m): 2:59pm On Nov 01, 2022
A lot of people have made the huge mistake of not able to differentiate between intimate feeling and over bloated infatuation. Before we go further, let us quickly digress by differenting the two subjects so that we can have a robust understanding of the two as well as the difference between them. Intimate feeling or Intimacy in a relationship is a feeling of being close, and emotionally connected and supported whilst infatuation is a strong but not usually lasting feelings of love or attraction.
Haven broadly distinguished between this conflicting but mutually exclusive subjects, it shouldn't be of surprise that a lot of people refused to get that girl of their dream or make that girl of their dream to become a life long partner because they keep mistaking that Euphoric seasonal infatuation to be a strong intimate feeling and this has been one of the fundamental reason why we keep having high rise in divorce, marital break down and a lot of unhappy partners in a relationship.

The poser here is how can we distinguish between a feeling of infatuation and real intimacy, the following important key points will help to distinguish between the two;

I. Infatuation makes you very physically attracted to this person, and it can sometimes distract you from exploring other facets of this person, on the other hand, intimacy makes you see beyond physical attributes and start to ask a lot of questions about the personality of the person, lifestyles, their pros and cons, their turn off and turn on about people, their sexual orientation, education among other important things.

II. Your strong feeling towards this person will make you to be real in making your intentions known, there is no faking your personalities whatsoever, you are open to scrutiny and always want to be seen the way you are but that cannot be said about infatuation because you're very concerned about impressing this person and having them see you in a positive light. You want to be the Mr Perfect Gentleman without no flaws, this is a bad omen for any relationship.

III. I believe absolutely in the myths of Love at first sight although we sometimes or most of the times mistake infatuation for love at first sight. You're forming strong feelings for this person very quickly—almost as if you knew instantly, you want to make them your juliet while you be an immediate Romeo, you have started seeing your unborn kids in their eyes, series of holidays around the world are gallivanting around in your minds, infact you have chosen the color of suits for you and your best man to walk her down the aisle. You need to be careful when making decision about Love at first sight so that you won't be unnecessarily nfatuated.

IV. Obsession is borne out of infatuation, you feel vaguely "obsessed" with this person to the extent of wanting to be around them always, being with one's partner is never a bad idea but when it becomes excessively obsessive then the relationship wasn't actually a product of absolute intimacy from the onset but a Ray of infatuation.
We should put at the back of our minds that rhere are other numerous sign to actually distinguished whether what we have for our prospective partner is real or a bloated feeling of infatuation. Always look at for those signs
