Four travellers have been kidnapped by some gunmen in Irele-Ekiti, Ajoni local council development area (LCDA) of Ekiti State.
The kidnap victims, it was gathered, were said to be heading to Ibadan, Oyo State capital after attending an event in Kogi State.

The travellers, according to a source, were waylaid by seven gunmen on the road between Irele-Ekiti and Oke-Ako around 11am on Sunday and taken to a nearby forest.
The sources said, “The four persons kidnapped were coming from an event in Kogi and returning to Ibadan when they were attacked along the Irele-Ekiti and Oke-Ako road.

“We have not heard anything from the gunmen since yesterday (Sunday) and we are hoping they will get in touch with their families, possibly for ransom.”
A community leader in Irele-Ekiti, Chief Kehinde Abejide, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Ado Ekiti yesterday, decried incessant cases of kidnapping in the area, calling for more security coverage in the axis.

Infactt it seems ritual killings have reduced and kidnapping is taking over . Why kill someone ,spill his blood just to make money ,while you can just keep him in a place and collect money from him and let him go.

It seems these kidnapping died down for a while and now when they see people forgetting about it and off guard, they now started another rampage.

Amotekun need to wake up back and not let their wins be eroded with all these agents of destruction.

When contacted, the Amotekun Corps Commander, Brigadier General Joe Komolafe (retd), who confirmed the incident said, “Operatives of the corps are combing the forest in the area towards rescuing the victims.”

Why don't Nigerian government employ the service of foreign mercenaries to help with this security issues affecting the whole country. To travel from one region or state to another is a big issue.

American government were able to come into Nigeria without the Nigerian government knowing to rescue their kidnapped victim in a boarder town btw Nigeria and Niger republic but yet Nigerian security can't even track or even monitor Nigerian bushes

They should better pay Ransom first before combing the bushes to avoid killing those kidnapped

I’m sure they have experience with things like this and will deploy everything necessary.
