Abubakar Atiku is one of the largest owners of cattle in Nigeria and a patron of MIyetti Allah

He has never hidden his support for their cause

Specifically he has voice support for the notions of
Freedom of movement and

Integration

For Miyetti Allah this means

1.Scrapping of antigrazing laws
2. Enactment of Water resources bill
3. Gazetting of grazing routes
4.Gazetting of grazing reserves

This Four Point Agenda has been seen in several releases linked to Miyetti Allah and fully supported by Atiku
Atiku is keen to see an end to the notion of State of Origin as part of this agenda under the guise of One Nigeria and unity but the real agenda is Fulani settlements across the country with Federal funding

Atiku does not accept that the herdsmen are criminal and rejects the "progiling" of Fulani as unfair
This is the cause of a recent quarrel with Governor Ortom

Ortom has made the point publicly that Atiku has NEVER condoled with Benue People in IDPs

Benue and Nasarawa are key to the reserve and settlement strategy before extending to the south and so it is crucial that Benue state is subdued. That is the most important target of Miyettu Allah

The next target is to use a Water Resources Bill from the federal government to counter the control of state governors over land especially land on the banks of Rivers and to acquire such land for Grazing reserve settlements for Fulani herdsment

The plan is to complete this as a matter of utmost priority within 12 months /

A dedicated Ministry will be set up to deal with nomadic affairs and an amnesty programme established to integrate bandits and settle them

A precedent will be cited in the case of Tompolo to make a case for herdsmen providing security especially around water bodies and rivers

To this extent Abubakar Atiku is very dangerous to the security and future of southern Nigerian and non Fulani in general

Despite the rejection of the water resources bill the government continues to push it
https://guardian.ng/news/governors-reject-contentious-water-resources-bill/

The calculation is that neither Tinubu nor Obi will support it but Miyetti Allah believe that the North have the numbers to force it through the National Assembly and Atiku will sign it before the end of 2023

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, had on January 31, 2019 kicked against the open grazing prohibition and ranches establishment law enacted in some States across the country.

Atiku, who was answering questions on a talkshow “The Candidates” a month before the 2019 general elections, said the law was unconstitutional and infringed on the rights of Fulani herdsmen to freedom of movement and residence across the country.

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, said on Wednesday that anti-open grazing laws in some states would be reviewed for compatibility with the Nigerian Constitution.

The former vice president said at a town hall Wednesday night that the Nigerian Constitution guarantees free movement of citizens, and suggested that herders should not be an exception.

Mr Abubakar said if the governments through extension services could educate herders, the income the latter would generate from beef and milk would be higher.

Mr Abubakar’s proposal could conflict with the position of Benue, Taraba and Ekiti states, where strict anti-open grazing routes have been in enforcement since 2016.

The states have said they would not back down on the law, despite repeated warnings by President Muhammadu Buhari that the law was antagonistic towards the predominantly Fulani herders.

Mr Abubakar, a Fulani, is also widely believed to own large investment in livestock.
