The Bayelsa state Government has replied to a comment made by the Minister for Humanitarian affair and disaster management, Hajia Sadiya Farooq that Bayelsa is not among the top 10 flood most ravaged states in Nigeria. According to the minister, Jigawa state tops the list as there are more deaths recorded in the state.

The Bayelsa state governor, Sen. Douye Diri has decried the statement, stressing that the Federal Government has abandoned its responsibility in the state.
