The G5 understand that if Atiku wins, they are in deep shit, so they have to ensure he doesn't win.

The problem here is simple, Wike is the playground bully, when the playground was in disarray, he restored order to the playground. Now Atiku used his money to buy people on the playground, thereby bullying the bully. Wike is not having it and is fighting back to stake his claim on the playground, the only way he can do this is to ensure that Atiku doesn't win.
