The Directorate of Contact and Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress' (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has identified the South-South geo-political zone, as a challenging region for the APC ahead of the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

Daily Trust reported that while he was speaking during its inaugural meeting in Abuja, the Director of Contact and Mobilisation of the PCC for South-South Zone, Olorogun O’tega Emehor, said that the zone, would be a battleground for the All Progressives Congress because, most of the states in the zone are under the control of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Olorogun O’tega said, “It is evident that our zone, the South-South, is a peculiarly difficult one with respect to our party. As we are aware, the APC only has one state governor out of the six states in the region while the PDP has the remaining five.


The PDP, has retained dominance in this region since 1999 and indeed, produced a President of Nigeria."

Further talking, he said "It is therefore clear that, for us to deliver for our candidate, we must work twice as hard as other regions and devise smart and practical strategies to deliver our mandate."

Actually, to become the president of Nigeria, you don't necessarily need to win any region. Just get the highest number of votes cast and get 25% in 26 states. Tinubu cannot achieve that.

Look at it panoramically you will see that the North has a script and the writers of the script this time are very smart.
