Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, says Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), will not win in the 2023 general election. Soludo said this on Monday in an article titled ‘History Beckons and I Will Not Be Silent (Part 1)’. “Let’s be clear: Peter Obi knows that he can’t and won’t win. He knows the game he is playing, and we know too; and he knows that we know,” the article reads in part. “The game he is playing is the main reason he didn’t return to APGA. The brutal truth (and some will say, God forbid) is that there are two persons/parties seriously contesting for president: the rest is exciting drama! That many Americans may not like the fact that Joe Biden (79 years) and Donald Trump (76 years) are two frontrunners for president in their parties does not remove the fact that if both of them emerge as candidates, definitely one of them will be president in 2024. “As my brother, I wish him well and even pray for him. Lol, I read that rant and stopped at the first paragraph. I told the person that sent it to me that it's fake news, that the structure of the rant sounds like what some of those bloggers masquerading as content creators will post. My guy referred me to Soludo Facebook account. It's was disorienting to see such ranting coming from governor of my state! Soludo sounds so unhinged that I started wondering about his mental health. For how long has he been harbouring hatred for Peter Obi? Hatred is a strong disease that kills silently in a violent way. PrinceOfLagos: . You're obviously not being realistic. You have probably become blinded by sentiment. Tinubu is very much in the race and arguably the leading candidate in the race.But realistically, I think the election will be tough for any of the top 3 presidential candidates to win. Tinubu will clearly have problem in South East and South-Sout; also, does he stand a good chance of defeating Atiku in the North (how many northerners will prefer Tinubu over a Atiku?)? Atiku will certainly have problem in the South-west; also, can he defeat Obi in South-East and South-Sout? Obi definitely has no hope in the North; also, can he defeat Tinubu in the South-West? |
