Golden Visa holders in the UAE can sponsor parents for a 10-year residency.



As part of the changes on entry and residence that came into place on the 3rd of October 2022, Golden visa holders can now sponsor their parents for 10 years of residency in the United Arab Emirates. According to the government, this is an improvement from the one-year residency that was usually granted to the parents of expatriates. Now, they are eligible for a 10-year golden visa and residency.


In UAE, an expatriate can sponsor their parents for a year if they pay according to the requirement of “a deposit as a guarantee for each parent as stipulated by the respective immigration department.” This requirement does not apply to Golden Visa Holders.
