A Glance At Rapper JAY P’s Thoughts On Life As A Gangster Rapper by PawlEpen: 6:52am On Nov 25, 2022
Jay P says undeniably, the past decade or even 15 years of hip-hop has seen a dramatic shift, with many rap legends struggling to keep up with the joneses. A lot of the records that may be considered trash are what the crowd is bumping or seems to be enjoying. Some people are irritated, and disapprove nevertheless others are visibly wowed. The absence of skill or talent is far from the issue as gifted acts are visibly in abundance. It is up to the artist to take charge of their career and figure out how they fit into the evolution.

Initially doing music purely for the love of the sport, the Rapper turned entrepreneur decided he might as well leverage his art to make ends meet. Initially, Jay-P could not afford studio time so he turned his bedroom into a DIY studio eventually moving it to the garage in his parents’ house as it grew. Being unable to afford a music manager, Jay P learned everything he could learn about the music business. Facing numerous difficulties and obstacles breaking into the industry, he became financially disciplined committing his earnings to his music and businesses.

Being a Gangster rapper is not for the faint-hearted. In this day and age where music is constantly evolving, it may feel as though gangster rap has become a sidekick. Rappers are stereotyped as if they are condemned at conception to be pariahs and branded riffraff. It is only when they successfully penetrate the scene that they are viewed as some sort of superhero.

Gangster Rappers are expected to represent Gangster’s Guns, Money & Drugs with the bulk of their lyrics, storylines, and appeal revolving there. Many a time, rappers end up limiting themselves in the name of appealing to the typical gangster rap audience. Jay P for one loves being a Gangster Rapper but then again not every aspect of his life is Gang-Gang. There is a time to go corporate, catch sun rays, and be oneself away from the Gangster Rap thang. There is a whole lot more to life.

Sometimes to lure a wider audience, which has been done one too many times before, blending gangster rap with other genres does the trick. Doing something for the sake of just doing it could turn out to be a total disaster. Vindication is therefore important to help the audience understand the artist's angle as the artist would want them to.

Some aspects of gangster rap go beyond the art or music genre. They are depictions of an artist’s life, environment, and struggles they or people within their community face merely leveraging the genre as a platform to air views, and opinions or seek redress.
The attitude of several gangster rappers comes in handy nevertheless some artists have had difficulties creating a balance between the tough guy attitude and being reasonably approachable as though it is forbidden to smile.

Creating a balance between one’s private life and their life as a gangster rap star could prove challenging for an act that does not draw the line. For an act that glorifies certain vices and embarks on living the vices could find oneself in a disastrous position.

Typical of gangster rappers, pricy champagnes and liquors are the typical, and it is pretty hard to leave herbs out of the picture with the likes of sharpstone usa keeping the grinding in motion. Alternatively, some high-end Cigars or smokables may add to the appeal as per the act.
