The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 12-year-old boy for kidnapping a three-year-old girl in Magama Gumau area of the state.

SP Ahmed Mohammed wakil, the Public Relations Officer of the command, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Bauchi.

SP Wakil identified the suspect as 12-year-old Dayyabu Abdullahi of Magama Gumau area in Bauchi.

“The information available at the Command’s disposal is that On 23/11/2022 at about 1740hrs Yahaya Sale ‘m’ aged 56yrs of Magama Gumau while at his shop located at the same address received a threatening phone call from an anonymous person, demanding the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira (150,000) as a ransom for the release of his kidnapped daughter one Mariya Yahaya ‘f’ aged 3yrs of same address.

But the problem is that tribalists and sentimentalists are biased towards crimes. Misguided Nairalanders are more active in condemning crime when the accused is/are igbo people. When the accused persons are not igbo people, those misguided Nairalanders react differently.

If this happened in Igbo land now, those misguided Nairalanders will go as far as claiming the boy is IPOB. The will even use it to condemn Obi's candidacy.
