But sincerely, Boko Haram is no longer popular as it used to be.

Until election period is over. Then, like Buhari who came in through the ballot and started behaving as if he was occupying his family's traditional title stool....

Bye bye to APC

No need to be rude.

Boko Haram are islamic terrorists. Their fuelled by Islam. It was started by the Kanuris and not Hausas or Fulanis. There are no indigenous Hausas in Bornu, Yobe, and Adamawa where the insurgency rage.

For years, the top echeleon of Boko Haram were Kanuris and may still be so. Even a large number of them constituted their fighters. Zulum, Shettima and Abacha are all Kanuris and neither Hausa or Fulani. Abachas wife,Mariam is Shuwa. They are a light skin tribe in Bornu state.

As for the Fulani bandits, they are not really bandits. They are more like marauder bands, the type that kidnapped Davids family and all those of his loyal followers when he was running from king Saul.

The genesis of the fulani bandits started when their cattle would graze on Hausas farm crops and conflicts would arise, with very bloody results. The farmers may poison their cattle or even kill them outright. The Fulani react by slaughtering farmers.

With the Fulani seeing their livelihood threatened by the Hausa, they started forming militia groups to protect themselves. They quickly transistioned into criminality as a way of sustenance. They have now gotten out of hand. Its like cult groups who initially started to protect their members or students but have now gotten out of hand.

They also complain that Hausas discriminate against them in civil service employment.

Many of these bandits cant speak Hausa and only Fulfude which is the language of the Fulani. I doubt they accept outsiders. It is strictly Fulani.

When they want to kidnap, past victims say they exclude the Fulani. They go pillaging, stealing and kidnapping to make lots of money. They have never propagated any islamic agenda.

Some aggrieved bandits have dropped their weapons when government addressed their grieviances. The vast majority wont as criminality brings in vastly more money now than cattle rearing.

It is sad that the FG poor response to these bandits have emboldened them. Buhari, who identifies as Fulani seems to sympathise with them to some extent and has been relatively soft in handling the issue.

Boko Haram will be difficult tp defeat as they are fuelled by a religious ideal. They can only be contained. They are motivated by a selfless cause which they are prepared to die for, believing it will bring them rewards in the afterlife.

The vast majority of the bandits on the other hand are now fuelled by greed and filthy lucre. They can be flushed out if government chooses to rise to the occasion

You mean the President of Anambra, because it will be an insult to many Igbo people to call him president of Biafra.
