For a long time now, I've been fed with loads of thoughts about the number of offsprings of the wisest king who ever lived on earth, King Solomon. This man who happened to be the Son of King David, was truly loved by God as he was provided with virtually everything a man would ever need in life - wealth, good health, wisdom, etc. One important fact about King Solomon, he never joked with God in terms of offering sacrifices to Him: King Solomon was a cheerful sacrificer. In the Book of 1 Kings. 8:63, he offered 142,000 animals to God during the dedication of the Holy Temple. (And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD. 1 Kings:8:63).

King Solomon's reason for marrying plenty women was not far from his wise ways of naintaining peace between him and the neighbouring countries. No wonder his entire reign was without war. Think of it, who will go fighting his own inlaws for nothing too serious? The above reason is supported by the fact that he had just those few children in spite the numerous wives. For him, it was not about sex; not about children but a politics of keeping his country peaceful and free of war!
