The newly recruited secondary teachers by Kaduna state government have planned a massive peaceful protest on Monday 12 December 2022. The protest is as a result of the seven months salaries they are owed by the state government under Governor Nasiru El-Rufai.
Recall that those teachers were handed letter of offer of provisional appointment on 19th July, 2021. They had to wait until 17th May, 2022 before they were deployed. Since the day they were deployed to date, the government has not paid them their salaries despite the high cost of living the country is currently facing.
They are calling on all the teachers concerned to converge at the state secretariat, ministry of education on Monday 12th December, 2022 to demand for justice for their unpaid seven months salaries since the deployment.
Over four thousand newly recruited teachers are expected to take part in the protest.

There is oil now in the North. Why can't they use some part of the oil money and pay these hardworking teachers?
