To be a man you need some level of honesty and a huge amount of madness.

1. You were supposed to be honest with your fiancee and not engage in having sex with that girl.
Ok, now the deed is done.

2. Solution... This is where madness comes into play. Because 2 people decides tohave sex doesn't mean one person should move into the other persons apartment regardless if pregnant or not.
The pregnant girl is better off in her parents house than yours because of your employment status. trust me.

You need to put up Alot of drama if you don't want to lose your fiancee
I have taken the case to the police and they told the girl's family that it is unlawful for them to forcefully push the girl to my house without my consent.

There is a criminal law in Lagos state called "disertion of pregnancy" which says the man can be jailed if he fails to take responsibility for a pregnancy. Before the law can jail some1 charged with this offense, don't they have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that that the said man is really responsible for the pregnancy?

I just found out the girl is also sleeping with my landlord and his brother.

Thank you for sharing.
I never said I can't or won't take care of the baby if it's mine. I only came here here to know what the law says about where she will stay while pregnant.
I have reported the issue to the police and they said there is no law that she must stay with me while pregnant. Infact the law frowns at it if the guy doesn't ant her to stay with him.

I found out today that my landlord and his brother are sleeping with the same girl.

All that don't matter now cos when you were sleeping with her, you didn't do your findings to know who and who is sleeping with her. Youre Just looking for every way possible to deny the pregnancy and shy away from your responsibility.

When they say stay in one place, e go dey enter one ear fly comot from the other one until happen. Now e don clear for your eyes.

I don't have an issue taking responsibility ma. My girl is aware of the situation and she is still with me nothing changed. I am only trying to know what is lawful because a girl can just point to anyone that he is responsible for her pregnancy because the guy is well to do and the law will back her up only for the baby to be born and it turns out he is not the father.

Hello Nairalanders,

I lost my job and the next day I learnt that a girl I had sex with is pregnant (5 weeks) . The family is insisting that if I don't want to marry her, I will atleast take care of her till she delivers. I did not object to their decision.

My issue however is that they said she must stay in my house during this period which I don't want.

What does the law say about this?

My fiancée is currently in my house and we are supposed to get married February. I will tell my fiancée today when I get back from work

Thank you

Thank you for contributing.
However they have no right to force her into my house and this has been clarified by the family unit in a police station. You don't have to give wrong information just because u want to troll. I am capable of taking care of both ladies just fine.

Stop making it look like u are the victim here. If u were are parent, u would do the same. By the way, what is even wrong if u marry both since u claimed u are capable of taking care of both ladies? My Candid advice for u is that u should marry both. It will be for ur own advantage. U may not know the importance now but later, u will thank me. grin

BOOK OF Sirach chapter 9 and the verses below:

Don't be jealous of the wife you love. You will only be teaching her how to do you harm. 2 Do not surrender your dignity to any woman. 3 Keep away from other men's wives[a] or they will trap you. 4 Don't keep company with female musicians; they will trick you. 5 Don't look too intently at a virgin, or you may find yourself forced to pay a bride price. 6 Don't give yourself to prostitutes, or you may lose everything you own. 7 So don't go looking about in the streets or wandering around in the run-down parts of town. 8 When you see a good-looking woman, look the other way; don't let your mind dwell on the beauty of any woman who is not your wife. Many men have been led astray by a woman's beauty. It kindles passion as if it were fire. 9 Don't sit down to eat with another man's wife or join her for a drink. You may give in to the temptation of her charms and be destroyed by your passion.

Good thing you went to the Police Family unit.

You will for now have to provide basic needs, antenatal, and feeding , if you have doubts of paternity when she births a DNA test will come in handy.

However it was very silly of you to have unprotected intercouse with somebody who you now claim has multiple partners.

I wish the lady staying with you luck, it is going to be a long battle for her. She is the only victim here.

When people are looking forward to cross over without carryover, you have found yourself in a very deep mess.
You lost your job, you got a side chick pregnant and you have a fiancee. O boy, your village people sabi work.
Consider your marraige plans to your fiancee over! Irresponsibility has consequences.

a girl can ONLY point to the person(s) that had unprotected sexual intercourse with her. Could be you or your Dad, or your landlord and his son... anyone of you is gonna pay! grin

It's important to educate young boys and girls on practicing Safe Sex and the dangers for unheeded ears.
